backorder
best buy offer is intriguing, but it is "backordered." i have waited for 2 weeks, and they provide zero information on when it would be available. I feel defrauded for a purchase of a product they don't even have. Best buy provides no information when it would be available. Am i supposed to wait a year. for best buy it sounds like it.

Best Buy refuses to send me the missing parts.
I bought a washer from the Best Buy website and it was delivered without the transit bolts. I called them 4 times and asked them to send the missing bolts to me and they say I have to pay for them myself, even though they are part of the washer. Even the manual says that they are part of the washer. These bolts prevent damage to the machine while it is being transported, and my husband and I have to move every few months coz of his job. We already moved once since we bought the washer and had to pay someone to make temporary bolts for that move. We have no bolts and have to move again in a few months, and this will damage our new washer. It is illegal for them to demand that i pay for the missing parts.

Poor customer service
Best Buy #220 at 5801 N May in Oklahoma City encourages customer frustration. They delight in shuttling customers needlessly from one long line to another and another and another until finally you give up in despair and leave. Although there are always dozens of clerks standing around chatting with each other or texting their girlfriends/boyfriends, there is never anyone knowledgeable or entrusted to provide customer assistance. When you ask to speak with a manager the employees stonewall, even going so far as to claim they do not know the names of the store managers. Best Buy institutionalizes and endorses poor customer service by making it impossible for customers to reach a member of management and be heard. Changes are desperately needed at that location.

Unreal
Unreal! I phoned Best Buy located in Tauton, MA. I had one simple question of the person that answers the phone, can you please provide pricing of a 18 inch cf, Top-freezer refrigerator. The clerk ask me what's the item number. Again I explained I need your cost of your 18 cub foot refrigerator, freezer top. After explain this 2 different times, I gave up. In an angry reply I told the clerk 'I bet you are making the big bucks'.
I don't understand it. A Best Buy employee could not grasp that I was simply calling to get a price. If Circuit City goes out of business, don't be surprised when someone goes postal in BestBuy.

Terrible service
I was lucky enough to receive a 32 inch Sharp Aquos LCD tv as a wedding gift from my dad, who also purchased the 4 year service agreement from the Geek Squad. The screen on the tv started going black, but I could still hear the sound so I thought it was the cable company. After 2 cable companies, I did a search no the tv and found that this is common with this tv.
Luckily, I thought, I have a service plan, and so I called the geek squad. They sent a tech, I was told that I needed a new mother board in the tv, they ordered it and called to set up my appt. when it came in. I received a call at 8am the morning of my appt. and was told that the box my part came in was stepped on and damaged, so they needed to re-order the part.
That was Sept. 26, 2008. Today is Nov. 4th - I have not received even 1 phone call from them, but have made over 10 calls to their service dept. I have been on hold for more than 45 minutes on one call, have asked to speak to supervisors, with no response, until today, and last week was told that my new part had come in and they scheduled a repair for today.
They scheduled this repair without notifying me and had I not called I would not have known that they were even coming. Today - no one called between 7 and 8am as they said they would, so of course I called. I had to work so I need to reschedule my appt. and they told me the next available appt. was not until Nov. 18th.
I told them that this was unacceptable, that I wanted an appt. for the 6th. I was told that they would have a supervisor call me within 4 hours, and guess what? No one called. I called again, actually spoke to a supervisor (i think) and was told that they would call me tomorrow to confirm that an 'expert tech' would be out on the 6th.
They also gave me another number to call after I asked who to call just in case I don't receive a call from them tomorrow. I'm hoping that this will go down as planned on the 6th, but after reading everything here - I'm not holding my breath. I did have someone put in a replacement request, but that has not been approved or denied as of today. It's really sad- but I will say that I will NEVER do business with Best Buy again.

Bad service
I called the customer service representative for bestbuy inquiring about whether or not I make a purchase online I will get a price match in the store. The customer service representative stated that I would not get a price match for an online purchase in the store if at a later date that product price reduces. I later found out this is not the case after doing research on the company's website. This seems a simple enough concept that a customer service representative should have been able to help me.
My second issue was on the same night with a different customer service representative. I asked about my rewards certificate for my birthday month and why I had not received my certificate because I am a rewards member. The representative could not tell me when I would receive my birthday special offer and stated that it could be at the end of the month and also stated that the certificte is only good in the month of my birthday. My family wants to use my birthday certificate to purchase me something for my birthday on November 9, and now they may not be able to and bestbuy was no help. It is customer service help like this that will most likely cause me to take my business to WalMart, and this is unfortunate because my family was planning to buy an Xbox 360 game center along with the Rockband II game set along with several accessories, easily spending over $500.

Scam
I purchased a home computer about 7 months ago from Best Buy along with the extended warrenty. Every time I take it in for repairs they say its not covered. The 1st time I took it in they told me I didn't have enough memeroy and sold me more I had it only 1 month when that happened. My brother told me that their Geek Squad was wrong since I had plenty of memeroy left. I then took it in for my program crashing. They again said it was due to not enough memory. I told them baloney since they had just installed more. Let me say that I don't download alot either. Then I had a error msg concerning my hard drive and that it was it couldn't be read. They again said it was not covered and wanted to replace a part for nearly $200 cost to me. Their in the business of making more money off of people than honoring their warrenty

Faulty Merchandise
last Feb I purchased a INsignia TV from bestbuy. The salesman brought the TV from the stock room and told me "that he would have to take it to the cashier" (I thought that this was a little odd). I payed for it and went home after unpacking it and setting it up I noticed a burning smell comming and smoke comming from the back of the TV. I immediately unplugged it and took a look at a closer
inspection I could see that the plastic case was cracked in the rear and the styrofoam packaging had been pushed into the electronics of the TV and it was this that was burning (I was shocked).
I called the store and explained it to a female in customer service and was told "to just return it and that they would look after it". The next day when I went back to the store after waiting for over an hour in a massive lineup at the returns and exchange. I was informed that THEY WOULD NEVER SELL A PRODUCT IN THAT CONDITION AND THAT I DID THIS MYSELF (I'M DISABLED) AND THAT THEY WOULD NOT EXCHANGE IT. i PERSISTED, AND WAS TOLD TO LEAVE THE STORE OR POLICE WOULD BE CALLED!! I WAS THEN SORROUNDED BY A HALF A DOZEN STAFF SOME WHO TRIED TO GRAB MY WALKING CANE AND MY BLIND-CANE (I HAVE BOTH).
After leaving the store fearing for my safety I was stopped by Police about 10 minutes after I left the store I explained the situation to them showed them my proof and they were satisfied and left.
They did inform me to persue it in the courts (small claims court for matters under $1, 000.00).
I now have a TV that does not work and I'm out $300.00 I WILL NEVER EVER STEP INTO A BEST BUY EVER AGAIN AND WILL BAD MOUTH THIS COMPANY WERE EVER I CAN!!

Terrible experience
Today I purchased a Hewlett Packard CD-Writer Plus form Best Buy. After a half hour wait to be served, I brought the product home for installation. Upon installation, I found that I required an additional part that was not present. I called the store for assistance, then was placed on hold 3 different before receiving assistance.
Asked to speak to the manager, and overheard the person who answered the phone speaking inappropriately about me requiring assistance, found the manager to be of absolutely no help at all. The manager referred me to another individual, whose best advice was to try going to a computer show. I found the experience to be annoying and a complete was waste of my valuable time.

Bad service
I originally took my laptop into Best Buy because it would immediately shut off if unplugged from the wall. Upon dropping my laptop off with Geek Squad, they assured me the problem was bigger than my battery (as I had just replaced that a few months prior) and were shipping it out to be repaired. Three weeks later my laptop was ready for me to pick up and all they had done was replace the battery. First of all, they had told me straight out that the battery was not the problem then did nothing more than to replace it and secondly, three weeks to simply replace that battery is just ridiculous. I took the laptop in a second time since they had not fixed the problem. They replaced the motherboard, assuring me that it would fix all the problems. While this did fix the problem of my laptop turning off when unplugged, it now did not read cds or thumbdrives, and no longer had the ability to access the internet. I left my laptop in the hands of Geek Squad for yet a third time and when I picked it up yesterday was very hopeful. While they fixed the other problems it had the last time, it now freezes up after 5-10 minutes of being on and must be turned off. I am severely irritated with the fact that I have to keep going with out a computer and that each time I pick it up it has new problems that it did not have prior to Geek Squad attempting to repair it.
