Scam and fraud!
I ordered a navigation system & 2 cds for my husband for christmas. I was sent an email the following day stating that the gps system was backordered. They did not display that information on their website. the website said that it was available online. now they want me to wait 4-8 business days to get my money back for canceling my order. Why should i wait that long when it didn't take them that long to take the money off of my debit card. and i need the money to buy a replacement gift. I call them and they have you on hold for over an hour. Then they refused to let me speak to a supervisor about getting my money back right away. I was supposed to receive the cds that i ordered on saturday 12/22/07 and i paid the extra shipping charges and ups has my scheduled delivery date for after christmas. I am going through hell to try to get different gifts for my husband because best buy false advertised and messed up my delivery dates.

Worst service!
Best Buy should be embarrassed by its customer service and return policy. Recently my employees gave me a nice camcorder for the holidays. The packaging indicated clearly it came from Best Buy. I don’t need another camcorder so I tried to return it. NO RECEIPT, NO RETURN. PERIOD. I even appealed to corporate customer service who promised to email the store manager, plead for mercy and ask him to call me. He (Dave Pena of the Woodland Hill, California store), never called. After a few days I called customer service again. Again they sent an email to Dave. No reply. Today I called a third time and received a message back from customer service. Their advice? “Sell it on ebay.”
Think I’ll ever shop at Best Buy!

Canceled order and refusal to refund!
The Worst buy!!! As I am typing this I am on hold... again... it'S been over 35 minutes... again!!! I ordered some movies months ago. Three months had gone by when they had said I would receive in a matter of days. I couldn't get anyone to pick up a phone for a long time. When I did finally I canceled the order after being on hold 20 minutes at least. I was told the only way i could get my money back was to receive a gift card in the mail... in about a week. That was a month ago, though they have managed to send me numerous pieces of junkmail trying to entice me to jump online and spend spend spend... guess what??? I'm not their sucker twice and I want my money back!!! They absolutely refuse to answer any phones!!! The people I dealt with at the local store are rude and seem they could care less... even when I spent up in four figures last year buying a pc and accessories. I am done doing any business with them and tolerating the atrocious service!

Scam artists!
I purchased a Toshiba 62' dlp tv from Bestbuy 3 years ago. I was told at the time of purchase that I HAD to buy the service plan. I read it carefully in the store and had the Manager write on my receipt' if in the event of a replacement, the full credit of $3200 will be applied to a replacement unit' This was in the store managers pen on my receipt just to prevent what happened (call it foresight).
Well after 3 years and 4 service calls I decided it was time to replace the unit. I went to the store and was promptly told that TOSHIBA is JUNK. I shouldn't have bought it in the first place. I gave them my psp plan along with all of my paperwork and was told that they didn't have this technology anymore(720p) so I would have to pay an additional 500 to upgrade. After fighting with them for about an hour they said that they would split the difference with me and charged me 285.00 to go to a samsung 61' 1080p. I was upset but I took the new one home. It was defective so I returned it to the store. They tried to make me take a used one but I refused and so I was issued a gift card in the amount of 2997.00. It included the amount that they screwed me out of. In the meantime the old set was not picked up by best buy. 2 weeks later I decide to go to the store and purchase another TV.
The store manager, John Calagey decided that they gave me too much credit and voided the card. I called him and he told me that they didn't get my old tv so I was out of luck. If I didn't like it to sue him. I waited appx 3 more weeks and decided to pursue this because I had not only got screwed outa my psp but I had a broken set that was useless. I called John and was told to bring my old set up and exchange it for the samsung but he was gonna charge me another 285 dollars. I took the set up to the store and talked to some girl with jewelery throughout her mouth(very hard to understand) and very nasty... but i regress... I told her what I was there to do and she told me to unload the set. I did.
I went back into the store and she stated that John(the real manager) said to give me 1500 for the set. I told her no and that I would return the next day. She then started screaming to security to kick me out of the store for calling her a name. What a great way to get rid of a upset customer... Oh well nasty mouth won and I left the store. I think her name was laurie... but thats enough of that. I called the main office(at least I was told I was speaking to the HEAD guy... tom... and he stated that the store managers set their own rules as far as returns and exchanges. He stated that Customer Service had NO CONTROL over the stores and they do not dictate policy.
I went back to the store this evening and had a tape recorder on me(and a off duty cop) waiting beside me as a witness to what was going on(and that I didn't call anybody any names) haha. He tool me old set and still charged me $285 for the exchange even tho the price on the new set has dropped $230.00. Best buy got me... they really did. But I will let everybody that I know --- and can read = I will tell them about the great 285 dollar profit that best buy got from me. And the guy even had the stones to ask me if I wanted to buy another extended warranty for the new set. He also held out his hand to shake with me to show me that there were not any hard feelings... I actually laughed at that.. Another thing. Geek squad has made a habit of parking their vans in front of the store... Call your local fire marshall... thats a Fire zone... and that can be enforced... but as far as treating customers this way... well you be the judge!

Will not answer their phone!
Everytime I call and no matter which store I call at Best Buy, they will NOT answer their phone. I'm trying to see if they have something in stock so I may buy it. If they dont want the customers business then we can go somewhere else. Why do they even have phones. Everyone needs to write or email the corporate office. Lets get Best buy out of Oklahoma.

Poor Customer Service
I had recently purchased a diswasher from Best buy, and had there Contractor "Raytec" come out and install it. It was imprperly istalled and leaked all through the bottom of my cabinet , causing it to collapse. So I went back to the store and explained what was going on (they have been very helpful in the store, the problem is Corporate), they contacted Customer Service who sent Raytec back out, who tried to tell me that I have a faulty valve. Ahhh, OK I have been in this home for 5years with no problems with leaks, the tech could not explain this, While he was here I asked hay by the way why is it when there is a full load in this dishwasher is is leaking out the sides on to the floor, Tech " I don't know, as he stuck a level on it , it's level", So when Customer Service called to follow up on this , I told them what was said and I was told the Tech said in his report that there is no problem, and it was "Not Our Fault", Then who's fault is it? If there was no leak prior to the work, and now there is?? If the tech didn't think the valve would hold up out of common courtsey wouldn't he say something at that point?? I was told by customer service then that they would look into it and call me back. They never did. So I called back up to the local store again, stating that the problem has not gone away and I am still awaiting a call back, the Appliance supervisor assured me that he would contact customer service and that they would be in contact with me, That was a few weeks ago now and still no call. So now an E-mail has gone out to Best buy Customer Service, asking when they are planning on adressing this issue, That I am almost 9 months pregnant, I can not continue to deal with this, and the problem is not going to go away and nither an I until it is resolved, So I asked if I needed to consult legal help, it that would move things along. Let's See if the can "get around to the problem"..... AUUGH

Best Buy won't replace or credit a defective product
My complaint concerns Best Buy Inc. They do not back the products they sell. If they sell you a defective product that does not reveal itself within 30 days after purchase, they refuse to allow it to be returned for credit or replacement. They will not allow consumers to complain directly to the store manager.
On August 3, 2007, I purchased an XM Satellite Radio Boom box for $104.99 and an XM Radio receiver kit for $39.99 for a total cost with tax of $156.94. The display screen of the receiver began to malfunction about the third week of September. I waited a week or so to see if it was the XM radio signal that was the problem. After the display of the channels began to disappear soon after I turned it on, I called XM Satellite radio. After hearing my problem the XM Radio technician told me I should take it back to Best Buy where I bought it because the receiver was not working right.
Today, October 9, 2007, I finally found time after work to bring in the radio boombox and receiver. As soon as the clerk at the repair desk saw what I had brought, he said that he was pretty sure that Best Buy would not be able to help me. He said We do not repair these. Since you bought it over 30-days ago, you will have to talk to the manufacturer (AudioVox). I showed him my 12 month warranty from AudioVox. I stated that Best Buy ought to return defective products to the manufacturer and honor the warranty by replacing the defective receiver by another. He stated that he could not do anything for me and started to wait on another customer.
After asking to see the manager, Ryan Travis, Deputy Counter Intelligence, met with me. I told him that I felt a 30-day return policy should apply to only those products that had not stopped working and that Best Buy should respect the 12-month warranty on the receiver set by the manufacturer. That is the way stores used to do business. If your vacuum cleaner or coffee pot was defective, you could always get a refund, a store credit, or replacement from the store where you bought it. The store dealt with the manufacturer. But Mr. Travis told me that he could not repair my receiver and he would not replace the receiver or refund my money. He said that I had to contact AudioVox.
When I asked to talk to the store manager, he said he was the store manager. After pressuring him, since the card he gave me obviously did not indicate that he was any kind of manager, he told me the manager was not in the store and he was acting for him. He gave me the number of the Best Buy customer service line.
I called the Best Buy corporate customer service center from the Walnut Hill parking lot. I spoke to Steve (no last name given). I explained that I intended to file a complaint but wanted to give the store manager a chance to hear me out. I told him that I believed a store should back up the products it sold. I told Steve that I planned to complain online because I thought consumers should know that if they buy a defective product from Best Buy, they are SOL if the product does not malfunction within 30-days of purchase. Steve tried to contact the store manager, Don (no last name permitted to be given), while I waited 10 minutes in the parking lot. When he got back online he was quite apologetic. He said that Don, the store manager, was quote unavailable. He said he too had gotten no where with Ryan Travis.
So now I am supposed to send AudioVox (located in New York State) my receiver and ask that it be replaced. In the meantime, I do not have a radio that I paid over $150 to listen to.
What I want first is for Don to get the guts to talk with me about this issue. Second, I would like Best Buy to change their return policy for defective products. Who would buy anything expensive like a computer (14-day return policy) or entertainment electronics (30-day return policy) from a company that will not let you return it if it is defective!?

Poor service!
I will never step foot into a Best Buy again, and I would caution anyone to do the same. They state their refund policy, which includes a 15% re-stocking charge, on the back of the receipt, and at the return counter! So, obviously we are not going to go to the return counter to purchase items and see this policy, and how many of us read the backs of our receipts? Their sales people do not tell you about the return policy, so the public virtually has no warning of this. I returned 2 cameras two days after purchase, and had my receipt. The first box was UNOPENED, but when I returned it, the sales clerk opened it to make sure everything was inside. Then the manager said he was going to charge me a "restocking fee" because the box was opened! In disbelief, I told him that I had never opened the box, the salesclerk did. He refused to believe me, basically calling me a liar. I was livid. I had opened the second camera but found that it did not function at all the way the salesman had told me it would, so I decided to return it. I was told that this item would also be subject to a 15% restocking charge because it was opened. I told them that I had not been made aware of this ridiculous policy and that is when they pointed to the sign behind the customer care counter and the back of the receipt. I tried to explain to them that not only did I have no advance warning about this policy, but secondly the salesman had fraudulently claimed that the camera had a certain feature that it did not. The manager could care less and just stared at me. At the same time, two other customers were having the same problem with returns. Anyway, I called customer service right from the store and told them the problem. They did not charge me the overstock fee on the unopened box, but did on the opened camera. So, now I will stop payment on my CC and deal with it that way. I am not going to just be ripped off for $45.00. I am also going to write the executive office. I will be happy to see this store go out of business, there is no way they can have a return policy and not make it clearly visible to the consumers. They have no concept of customer service. I'm going to Circuit City!

Fraud and cheating!
Just a warning to those who buy something at Best Buy by opening up credit with them. There were signs promoting six months no interest with new credit for purchasing products over a certain dollar amount. I wasn't going to apply for the credit since I have enough, but the sales clerk convinced me by emphasizing the no interest for six months teaser. So I filled out the application which he handed me and bought the computer. I've made two payments, but since I moved across country I just got around to reviewing my statements and found finance charges even though I have paid on time and am only two months into the six month promotional period. I called customer service to have the finance charges removed, but they told me that there are actually two types of credit accounts and that I had been given the wrong application. I asked how to get this resolved and was told that there was no way to change anything. I explained being told I was not going to have to pay interest and then finding finance charges was not a good way to run a business. She explained that this was a problem that had been happening, but that there was nothing being done about it. So I have paid off the outstanding balance and canceled the card. I'll probably never buy anything from Bait & Switch Best Buy again. If you do open up credit, just be sure you're getting what you think you're getting.
