I made a purchase online with Best Buy as a Silver Rewards customer, with free shipping, and had it shipped to another state as a Hoilday gift. I paid for the gift with a credit card and a gift card. It was not the right item, so I purchased another, this time paying cash at the store and taking it with me, , after I learned of the return policy.
By the way, all the return details are on the receipts, you get AFTER you make the purchase. Holiday purchases have til Jan 31 they say to be returned.
I then traveled to where it was shipped and returned the original phone to the store. I was advised the return would be credited back to the credit card, and the gift card. Well, I had already discarded the EMPTY gift card, so I didn't get a chance to reuse the credit for the gift card in the store. I was not asked if I have the card before the credit was issued. I also found out if a gift is returned to the store, the person returning it can only "swap out" the gift, and cannot get a gift card for any amount, as it will go back on the senders card. SO DO NOT SEND GIFTS FROM BEST BUY.
I did some research, and got an electronic receipt from the shipping and it did have a paragraph where you can call to get another card reissued. No one in the store gave me that info. I will have to wait 2 weeks to get it, so I cannot use it for the other purchase that had a special price for only 4 days. Guess what, I will not make that purchase at Best Buy. I will go somewhere that has a better return policy and price matches. BEST BUY LOST A GOOD CUSTOMER.
