Service of proucts under warranty
My wife and I purchased a new Whirlpool washer and dryer at Best buy and paid for an extended service policy for three years. We were told that the set we purchased was the last set and that the dryer was an electric dryer. We needed to have a gas dryer. The salesman then told us that for an additional thirty dollars, they could convert the dryer to gas. O.K., no problem, I am oblivious as to the workings of a dryer. I paid the money plus delivery fees and had the dryer brought out to the house. As it turned out, the gas company had to install the gas line because the home was new. They then changed the gas line that was hooked to the dryer. Two years later, my landlord was forclosed on and we have to be out of the home in just a matter of days. I took an apartment that met our needs and as it turns out, the apartment does not have a gas line for the dryer. I called Best Buy and explained that I would be more than happy to have it switched back at my cost. I was told that it was not possible to do this as electric and gas dryers are totally different inside. I contacted over fifteen dealers and found this to be absolutely true. I was lied to when I purchased the dryer. What happened was, they converted the gas dryer to a propane dryer. This could have caused an explosion, fire or death to myself and my family. The unit is still under warranty and Best Buy denies ever doing this. They offered to give me a twenty percent discount on a new one. How considerate. I contacted corporate and recieved the same runaround. They refuse to do anything at all. I have spent well over twenty thousand dollars at thier stores. At this point, I have finally realized that maybe my dollars would be better off spent elsewhere. This company just plain out and outright SUCKS! They will never get another dime from me. I am also gathering up everything that I have bought at thier store and I am returning it immediately. I just purchased a four hundred dollar camera last week, a 41" flat screen t.v. for fourteen hundred, two laptops at over eight hundred each and a new P.C. last week at a thousand. It's amazing how they have the attitude that they will retain GOOD customers buy treating them the way they do and blatantly lie to them when trying to make a sale. Just in one year I purchased nine computers from them. Never again. Thay have lost me for good. And shame on any of you for supporting a company that does this to thier customers. Once again, They SUCK!!!
