Buyers beware
I purchased a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta from Best Choice Motors. Prior to the purchase, I was assured a full engine check-performance check had been conducted and the vehicle had no problems. Less than a week later, the vehicle would not run. I immediately contacted the dealer and explained the situation. The dealer just laughed and told me there was nothing he would do. After much discussion, and my telling him I would contact the local media, he relunctantly said I could have it towed back to them and they would look at it..They later contacted me and told me the clutch needed to be replaced and they would have it done within two days..Two days later, the car was not ready, and I was told they had to order the part. This continued for close to two weeks as each time I contacted them the story changed (ie, the part had not arrived, it was the wrong part, the mechanic was on vacation, etc) Each time I contacted them to ask for a status on my car, the sales people were very rude and derogatory..I am a single mom, and the owners-salespeople are all males from another country where women apparently do not engage in business transactions. Finally, I told them I would be filing a report with the police..Within hours, my car was suddenly "ready"..I asked for paperwork verifying the part had actually been replaced and they refused.Additionally, I had to take a male friend with me to pick up the car since their attitudes had become increasingly menacing and I was actually fearful.Since that time, I have had to have the car towed an additional two times to another mechanic with major repair work..I believe this dealership to be fraudulent in its business dealings and would urger other buyers to beware.
