Do NOT use this company
We hired this company based on a quote and assurances of quality services and we checked the references they provided. unfortunately we did not check the 1, 000+ complaints against this company until after the move was done. They are HORRIBLE. Their quote means nothing. Their movers were apparently taken right off the street with no experience; they move ata fraction of the speed of professional movers; and the amount of furniture they damaged or destroyed was mind boggling. They tried to add hidden fees for everything; they stopped the move several times and demanded cash to continue the move and even charged for the time they were refusing to work, eating, or sitting around, and then padded more time on top of that, plus an hour per day travel charge - for the 4 miles from their office to our office three blocks away - and then even added a "fuel surcharge" as a % of the total even though fuel prices have dropped to the lowest price in years. This is the most unprofessional and unethical moving company I have ever dealt with and we lost a lot of money by relying on them for this move, from overcharges, lost time and damages. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

outragous amount for moving h/h goods
My move this past Thursday was beyond a total nightmare. Weeks prior to me trying to prepare for my move, I went online and found a website that sends multiple quotes to you for movers. Well after doing the comparisons, it seemed they were the most reasonable for my move. My move was to be from Baltimore, MD to Alexandria, VA. I mainly had heavy items such as the following: amoire, two televisions, sofa, loveseat, 3 trucks, a microwave, a bakers rack, bookcase, small entertainment stand, dresser and 10 small to medium sized boxes. Well, they arrived in a 26 ft. truck. I asked them to call me prior to coming b/c my former apt complex was having the parking lot repainted. That was 6:30 in the morning. No one called until around 9:15, which my move was supposed to be between 8 and 9. They went to the wrong building, thus making their arrival at 9:30. I showed them what items to take. The foreman had me to just initial and sign the pages giving a vague description of what was on them really before the services began. Long story short, when I got to my apartment( arrival time between 12:45 and 1:30 pm), I was thinking that we are well within the 5 hours. The quote i received for 3 men @ $75/hr was $450. But when I met him at the truck at my new apartment, I get quoted $988. That was way over my budget, so I called their corporate office. That was a waste. I spoke to three different people. The first I stated that I was concerned that I wasn't going to have enough. Can I just place my items in their storage since they offer one month free? The answer was, " we don't have a storage facility." How could they not have a storage facility when it says so on their website as well as their confirmation page?! Next, I spoke to another person who was supposed to be a manager. I asked her the same question and she states, " we have one, but its full. you should have made prior arrangements. you need to ask one of your friends, family or something for the money if you are short." So from that point, the crew just sat there talking on their cell phones, took naps, went even to get lunch while still holding my stuff on the truck. They wouldn't negotiate to take it to their storage that all of a sudden became non-existent nor take a fraction of the costs. I tried to offer what I could, they said no. They were very rude and argued basically trying to say I am trying to get out of paying them. that they have had 10 other customers do the same thing. I asked them not to wrap certain items, they did so anyway saying that its mandatory w/o showing anything in writing. I went to my leasing office and explained the problems I was having with them. The leasing agent present asked had they given me any additional paperwork reflecting the breakdown of charges. I went back and asked for the paperwork. The only thing I was given was a paper with handwritten amounts on the back of it. the leasing agent called the company and spoke to the very same woman supervisor that I had spoken with. She also did the same thing with getting rude with the leasing agent on the phone as well. This was when I was advised to contact the police. The Fairfax county police came and immediately, one of the officers recognized the truck along with the crew. The officer stated that I was the fourth person to have dealt with this company and had a complaint to be filed b/c of their fraudulent practices. The officers took my information and are filing report. but i am left w/o furniture until tuesday..I will be seeing a legal tomorrow because my supervisor as well as my military supervisor were upset at what happened. i have to miss a day of work just to be present when they come to deliver my furniture on tuesday. let's pray that they deliver everything in tact and have no attitudes
