Transmission started at $1397 for my Jeep Liberty and ended up $2592. The transmission co, an AAMCO did a fine job on the work, and told me if I had come in off the street the trans. would have been around $1800 to $2000 with a 12 month/12, 000 mile warranty.
Now for the part that I am REALLY upset about: The warranty. Went from a misleading Lifetime/Unlimited mileage over the phone, to a Lifetime/Unlimited mileage (whichever comes first) Limited Pro-Rated warranty.
They make the transmission shop cover the first 6 months/6000 miles, then from 6months/6000 miles to 12 months/12, 000 Best Transmission covers the transmission for 50% of the PARTS only, I am responsible for all the labor. From 12 months to 12, 000 miles they cover 25% of the parts only. They have to supply the parts which the will buy wholesale and charge me retail (part like they did in the first place) which will cover their portion of the warranty.
I also plan to file a complaint with the BBB and the NJ Attorney Generals office. I know they don't care about the BBB because they have 4 complaints filed and they have not responded to any of them.
Bottom line, spread the word to STAY AWAY FROM THEM, you will not save any money and most likely spend more.
