Lack of customer service
Although Better Bedding was bought out by Sleepy's, you would never know they were part of the same company. The Wholleys would be mortified if they realized how terrible the customer service is at their store.

We purchased a Dr. Breus bed at the Manchester, CT Better Bedding (next to IParty) last week and it pleasantly arrived the next day. Unfortunately, I had the worse sleep ever and could not get comfortable. We understood the "30-day return" policy to mean we could return or exchange it as we would any other retail purchase (full refund or partial refund for a lower priced replacement). That used to be the policy. But according to the fine print, there would be a $249 charge and we could only exchange it for an item of equal or greater value.

This was an unfortunately misunderstanding, but it got worse when the store manager, Shaun, was rude and refused to help. He told us to call customer service, and washed his hands of the situation.

We went about 100 yards to the Sleepy's store (in the Babies R Us plaza) and the store manager there took the time to call customer service for us and got the whole thing resolved satisfactorily. The Sleepy's store did not get credit for the sale, but they understand what good customer service is all about. Hats off to them for going above and beyond.

Defective products
I purchased a mattress & box spring for over $3, 000.00 less than 3 years ago. The mattress was defective and broke down to an uneven, lumpy, uncomfortable bed. Customer service for Better Bedding came out to inspect and agreed. A report was filed, the mattress is defective.

I called the store and spoke to the Manager to discuss the defective mattress. I was told, "we do not carry that mattress any longer, there is nothing we can do, contact the manufacturer".

Unhappy with my conversation, I called Tom Wholley (Vice President) to discuss my options. His words to me were, "there is nothing I am willing to do for you, contact the manufacturer".

Now Better Beddings commercials are all about customer service satisfaction. I have not experienced any customer service satisfaction. I am now stuck with a $3, 000.00 mattress that I am unable to sleep in. Consumers, do your research and find a retailer who will stand behind there products because Better Bedding has not with me.
