complete scam
Yesterday I followed a link to their ad from the Washington Post. I erroneously figured the Post would not allow total scam companies to be listed as their endorsed advertising partners. I was wrong! I signed up for a free trial, then kept looking for the information on the full price, should I want to continue receiving the product (Premium White dental whitener). No information of any sort at all on the site. I finally found a tiny link (after submitting my info and credit card number) at the bottom of the website labeled TERMS AND CONDITIONS. In four pages of very tiny type came the information that you would automatically be billed nearly $90 for the TRIAL (not the $1.95 that you signed up for) and be billed that much every month, EVEN IF YOU CANCELLED THE ORDER AND SENT THE PRODUCT BACK!!! Then it went on to say that you would be forbidden to RETURN TO THE WEBSITE if you cancelled!!! I immediately called and cancelled my credit card with the bank, and called the number for Premium White. I was on hold for nearly an hour, finally got a rep to answer, I cancelled the order. He reminded me that I would still have to pay the full $90 unless the order was returned within 14 days of having been placed. I can see from other information that I probably will not even receive the order within 14 days, so therefore could not return it!! I did get an email confirming my cancellation, but with no information regarding where to return the product to! (fortunately, it was in the fine print 4 pages long). An hour later I got a phone call from the company asking me to confirm my order. I told them I would NOT confirm the order because it had been CANCELLED. She said I could not CANCEL an order, and I told her I already HAD, and had cancelled the credit card, and had a letter with a cancellation number from Premium White. So far they have charged my card (pending) the $1.95 for the free trial, but they will not be able to charge any other charges, since the card has been cancelled. I anticipate many hassles, but I will refuse to accept any charges from this scam of a company. I am writing to the Washington Post and telling them that they have severely undermined all credibility with me by sponsoring this ad!!
