I purchased a bike from Bicycle Works and was not relayed their return policy in person. No signs were posted anywhere either. The policy on their receipt states that "All refunds must be accompanied by receipt". I was only allowed 5 min parking lot ride but I thought it was a good bike (I had a good talk with a trusted salesperson at another store that didnt have what I wanted in stock). Naturally I should have asked about their policy but since it was stated on the receipt I thought I knew what it was.
I took the bike out for a good long test ride and found that it was not responsive and didn't fit me as well as I thought it should. I spoke with the owner and he refused an exchange or refund but said that he could buy it back used, which is insulting as he'd be buying back a bike he sold two weeks ago at a reduced price and probably be able to resell it at full price. I told him I would even pay a restocking fee but was told that he wasn't interested.
They do no honour their policy as stated on their receipt. I've naturally filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am waiting on a response.
