I took my Jeep in for basic routine maintenance (oil change/alignment/rotate & balance). When they went to bring me my vehicle back, the guy called me outside and said it wouldn't go into park. That was Saturday. They closed and kept the Jeep. They claim it would have happened to me if I had been driving it. Some spring broke in the button that you push to put it in gear. I maintain that it happened in their possession. I saw how they were driving cars to park them (like a teenage boy in a hotrod). How do I know they didn't slam it into gear or something else to cause this? Do I really know this would have happened to me? I called 2 Jeep dealers service departments and they both said that it is not a common problem for this to happen on Jeeps. So now it's Tues night and I've had a rental since Sunday. They refuse to pay for the rental, but I would not have the rental if they had not broken my Jeep. I called their corporate headquarters who finally got the "market manager" to call me. They have now decided not to make me pay for that repair (why would I pay for what they broke?!). I do believe they are making it harder for me since I am a woman...a military wife whose husband is in Korea while I'm left with this mess caused by Big 10 Tires.
