Awful Service
Purchased two tires for nearly $800 from this store and was waiting for my free alignment check. I was told it would be done in fifteen minutes. Sat around for about a half an hour when the service rep Ehren indicated that there was a vehicle stuck on the rack and they couldn't get me in for three hours and that I would need to return at which point I stated "that is bs". Ehren then flew off the handle embarassing me in front of a host of customers and accusing me of shouting at him (among other things). I was dumbfounded a rep could be so publically abrasive (and still be employed). I stated I would not be returning for future tire purchases at which point he indicated he preferred that I not return.
The most surreal customer experience I have ever seen.

TIRE BLOW UP
One of teh Big O tires for my all wheel vehicle blew up on teh freeway, the tread came out of its casing and cause damage to the side panel of the truck and the muffler, I tried to have the tire replace which is still under warranty, but all they say is that they do not have the tire on stock, and that I should replace all 4 tires for only $800.00 but they will deduct the one that blew up so it will be 'only" arounf $600.00 and not to mention the damage caused to the truck, whic they said they can not verify was done by their tire!!
I used to be a good customer of Big O but no now.
I wonder if the government is looking into these complaint with the Big O tires.

brake scam
i have been a big o tire customer for years and i finally realized what a scam the whole thing is. not only have i over paid for tires (thats why i buy only used now), but every time i make a point of coming in to check my brakes before the year is up i am given one excuse after another as to why they will not give me free brake pads, which is what it states in the contract. i travel a steep canyon road 5 days a week to sedona and my brake pads last exactly 1 year before they need to be changed. instead i was told i need additional parts that were going to cost me over 300 dollars and the owner came outside in an unpleasant way and made sure they were not going to cover the brakes. then they told me the vibration i was feeling was the old shocks and when they took the tire off they said it was someting else. when i took it to my regular mechanic he told me it was none of the things they stated. i know at least 25 people that are customers of big o tire and i feel it is my duty to share my experience with them. as for new tires, they have much cheaper ones at sams club and their labor is less and i can get my brakes done elsewhere. i will never go to big o again and thats coming from a customer of 10 years!

bad sevice
went to Big O tires for a tire rotation and to check the tire pressures. As i have taken out a lifetime warrentee on the tires i bought there. When i got the car back the pressure was low and my brake light was on they didnt even check the disk brakes when the tire was already off and the disk brakes was right in front of them that is very bad busness. Upon driving the car I couldnt even hold it on the road the balance of the tires were off probably due to a tire weight being knocked off again bad mechs. The name of the service writer is Ray Williams the Managers name is Thomas K.Huls the store is on 57672 TWENTY-NINE PALMS HWY.Yucca Valley, CA phone 1 760 369-6791 My name is Dale Clark 56360 Buena Vista Dr. Yucca Valley CA 92284 Thank You

Rip off
I went in to Big O Tires in Tempe last Thursday July 15th to get an oil change before I went out of town to San Diego for the weekend with my kids. I have a 2008 Saturn Outlook with 59, 000 miles. I got the oil change annd everything seemed good. I got in my car and started driving down the road and noticed that my temp guage was rising a bit and looked like the vehicle was running a little warm. I continued down the road and it stayed like that, so I called Big O and they said to bring it back. When I got there, they had to let it cool and then diagnose the problem. I didn't have time to wait so I got picked up and waited for their call. They called and said I needed a new radiator($750.00) and since they had the thing torn apart, they said I should also replace the thermostat($750.00, $1, 500.00 total)!!! This did not seem right with lower milage and I'm a price shopper, so I called a few friends for a referral and they sent me to Paul's Car Care in Chandler off of Arizona Avenue between Ray and Warner. They told me the radiator cap was loose and could have not been put on tightly from the oil change or it was malfunctioning. Either way, it was $73.00 and I was out the door!!! Shame on those guys at Big O who had 2-3 flunkies working on my car and couldn't analyze the problem, except for replacing the whole DAMN cooling system!!! Obviously it would run fine after that!!! I usually find the oil change coupons and go to the cheapest place for an oil change, but never again with these clowns. I little rule to live by with mechanics is find a little mom and pop shop where the owner is the head mechanic and you should be ok.

Overcharged and company refusing to respond
We think we were overcharged for a synthetic oil change. So about a month ago we called and got no help.
So we wrote a letter to the corporate office on May 19, 2010 and expressed our thoughts that we thought
we were overcharged by $25 to $40 and had never paid so much for that service before. To date, we have
heard nothing from them. We think they have a very poor customer service and are ignoring us. All they
had to do is have the courtesy to answer us "Yes" and make an adjustment or "No" and we would go elsewhere
for our oil changes in the future. They also failed to put the proper codes on our receipt and therefore we
were not able to use a rebate coupon to get a $25 rebate on our complete shock replacements that we got
at the same time.

Defective tires sold
I bot a 50k tire at the local Big O, which has become defective due to the tread separating from its casing.
I took it to the dealer, who only wanted to sell me a higher $ tire.
the dealer also refused to change the dud with my spare, also wanting to charge me a fee...even after selling me the defective tire.
NEVER BUY TIRES AT BIG O.

Very bad experience
I recently had a very bad experience at this store. I have been a loyal Big O customer for years, and have gone to this particular location many times. This last time, however, when I went in to have a flat tire replaced (they have a great warranty, and replaced the tire for free), they "found" another problem with my car: apparently the CV boots on the front left and right axles were leaking. They showed me, and sure enough, there was grease coming out. Their estimate for the repair was $440. I told them I didn't want it fixed now, and that I may be back. I then took my car to a local, independent mechanic that I trust completely with all car matters. He called back a few hours later and said that he'd never seen anything like this - the CV boots were neatly severed, with no sign of wear and tear that could possibly lead to their failure. He showed them to me - sure enough, it was like they had been sliced with a razorblade, and there was no splattered grease, no wear, absolutely no evidence of a previous problem. My mechanic replaced the CV boots for $284. I will never go to a Big O again.

Not receiving the free gas I was promised
I too was promised $500.00 in free gas with the the purchase of 4 Big O Tires or Brand name tires. Send $100.00 in gas receipts along with the monthly gas voucher and receive a $25.00 gift card from the gas station you picked. I feel really lucky after reading some of the complaints. I started sending my receipts in May 2008 and have received 6 of the $25.00 gift cards. We sent our receipts by register mail but now we just receive the receipts back undeliverable. But we are still sending our receipts in every month to uphold our end. Does anyone know of a class action lawsuit against this company???
