Auto Repair
My car became disabled on March 11, 2011. I called Big Owl's Auto Rescue and spoke with Alphonso Willis on March 12th and advised that my car was disabled and that I needed a mechanic to come to my home to diagnose my car to see what happened. He advised that a mechanic would be out to look at. The mechanic came and advised that the timing belt blew on the car. The owner advised that it will be $440.00 to replace the timing belt including labor. They advised that they car will be fixed by Monday morning. That same day the mechanic installed the new timing belt but the car still did not work so he advised that he will be back the next day and never showed or called. The mechanic finally came back Tuesday evening to check the timing marks and advised that the head could have possibly been destroyed when the timing belt messed up. The owner (Alphonso Willis) advised that we would have to replace the cylinder head and that would cost $887. He advised that we can pay $250 for the timing belt job, and we would have to begin to pay for the head job. He gave us an estimate of $887. I advised that we could not pay the whole amount because we did not get paid until the end of the month. I advised that we can pay $562 now and the $325 on pay day. He advised that the car will be completed by March 18th. We paid him $562 and they began the work on the car. We were told that the head will cost $450.00. His wife advised that the head would cost $500.00. That why we had to pay $562 to ensure that the part and some labor was covered. We have been lied to and have received bad customer service. We were promised that the work will be completed on this day, and it is not. They have no courtesy to call us and give us an update. We call them, and no one ever answers and when they do answer they are very rude. I have 2 small children, and a husband who is a disabled veteran. I have lost my job, canceled numerous appointments. Today, April 15th, 2011, we called him and he advised that he will not be able to come out to fix the car. My husband and I explained that we have no other transportation. He advised that he cannot drop other customer to attend to us. I am at the point where I do not know what to do and I need help as quickly as possible.
