I bought the software restorer 2000 from bitmart ( www.bitmart.com) and it does not perform the function it is advertised to - absurd, really, but there you go. It is supposed to be for *personal* hard drive recovery (that is, to be used by a non-professional, in their home) but it is so slow, even on my 1-year old 1.6ghz machine, it is useless. At the rate it was going (average over 8 hours) it would take more than *6 consecutive days* to restore my accidentaly formatted 30 GiB HD! It completely occupies the computer all that time. I took the drive to a friend and he restored it using "filerecovery professional 3.0" in less than 2 hours, so the problem here is clearly the restorer 2000 software, not a basic technology issue.

Who can simply not use their computer for 6 days? That's insane. That is a very small hard drive, as well. It looks like it would take preportionaly longer for larger drives. So at maybe 12 days for the average 60 GiB HD, it's like selling microsoft word as video editing software - totally unsuitable.

I emailed them and they refused to give me a refund - even a partial refund.

It also looks like it recovers ALL the data on the drive, including anything deleted in the distant past, which you would then have to sort through to free up space - an insurmountable task. So it is basically completely useless for this, though it was advertised as being suitable.

So the short of the long is,

SCAMMERS!

AVOID! Their software looks like a deal, but it's a trick! It cannot be used for it's purpose to the extent that this is completely fraud.

In fact, I don't even know if it actually would restore the data in that time. Maybe it's all a trick? They say it takes so long so you don't actually wait and see it's not really recovering anything successfuly? I know I certainly can't spare 6 whole days without a computer to found out. I wouldn't be surprised.
