The Blendtec 3 hp HP3A, Total Blender, EZ Blender, the Blendtec Champ, the Blendtec Connoisseur blenders, all of them, have been designed to run its blending cycles automatically pre-programmed. Therefore the company states that a tamper on its commercial or residential blenders is not needed. However, customers in restaurants, smoothie bars, coffee shops, and consumers have repeatedly reported to us (123Vita, LLC on www.3blenders.com) that a tamper is needed indeed.

The company has threatened us legally to stop selling the tamper made from poplar wood dowels and sold for under $ 10.00. I understand that Blendtec has invested into its design and blending cycle programs millions of dollars. But it is still the truth; the Blendtec HP3A Blender, the Total Blender, etc... all need a tamper at times.

Now, the blending cycles are designed so genius that in theory it makes sense that no tamper is required to push down the ingredients towards the rotating blade. An electronic automated blending cycle is engineered to slowly start up, pause, speed up, etc... and then finish of the blending of the smoothie, the ice cubes to snow, the milk shake, the hot soup, etc... When a mistake however is made by either pushing the wrong button / program, or adding the incorrect ingredient amount, or being in a hurry with blending down frozen strawberries, often hands, spatula, fork, spoon or other devices are used to accelerate the blending process.

Blendtec blenders are great. You can get the 3 hp Blendtec HP3A blender with 25 blending programs for around $ 350, or with sound enclosure for under $ 400. The Connoisseur Blendtec blender has 30 blending cycle programs, and so does the EZ Blender. The Total Blender is equipped with 16 programmed blending cycles. We sell a lot of these blenders.

Blendtec has indicated to our distributor to stop selling to us because we are selling and/or offering a tamper with these blenders. We just want to be honest and the company is fighting dirty, want to get rid of us or even threatened to sue us in court. The blenders work great if customers take the time to learn the programs. A tamper is still needed at times. Just be safe and don't put your hand into the container or a fork. We provide a wooden after-market-fitted wooden dowel with a cross through so the end won't touch the blade when used with the lid in place...

Anyway, that is our story. The proof, why do customers buy the wooden dowel tamper for their Blendtec 3 hp HP3A Blender, their Connoisseur blender, their EZ blender, their smoother, their Total Blender, etc...? Because it is really needed, seldom, but it's good to have it in the drawer when you need it.
