Scammed from money/identity
First they were offering 50% off flower purchases for "registering, " but they didn't tell me that by registering my name, email address and phone number (the essential information you need when stealing someone's identity), that I would be automatically enrolled in their "program." So I fought the company on the charges, ended up paying full price for my mother's flowers, cancelled my membership, received my refund, and now this company, "Identity Worldwide, " sends me an email more than a month later to congratulate me on my membership. Coincidentally, there is a $19.95 charge on my checking account under the notation "Identity Worldwide." I have never heard of this company before, nor did I agree to any membership, so naturally, I sent an email in questioning both issues. The response I received was from a Blooms Today employee, explaining that I would have to log in in order to "cancel my membership." No mention of a refund, no explanation of the organization, how they got my information, or how I came to be a "member." This company is on an all-out scamming spree, stealing people's personal information, as well as banking information to create false memberships in order to generate fraudulent fees. Do not trust anything their website tells you, and do not fall victim to the special deals or offers they may use to seduce you. I consider myself to be an intelligent, educated person, and I should have known when 1/2 off sounded too good to be true, that is was just that. My next step is to call my attorney, file a complaint and change my banking information. I suggest anyone else who has lost time, money and peace of mind to this company do the same. Until we all start standing up to this blatant thievery, companies like this will continue to run rampant over the unregulated marketplace we know as the World Wide Web.
