Sales Tactics
My Husband and I traveled with our family to Orlando and were "sold" on a free vacation to Disney World. Boy, were we fooled.
We were promised that the sales meeting would be only 2 hours long. It was 3 and we were treated with disrespect. We told the sales people that we do not make haste decisions and would not be making one today. He said that he needed a yes or a no answer; he did not like maybe's. He said that he would give us a minute and would come back. We told him no...well, my husband got up to go to the men's room and I waited for him. The salesperson said "I may not have made myself clear enough to you, but you need to leave and leave now." I told him that I will leave when my husband got back. He tried to reach out and grab me, but I moved from him. He said "I am only kidding"...I wish he would have touched me and I would have filed charges against him for battery. Just because we wanted to go home and think about it for a week, he got bent out of shape and almost violent.
My husband found out about this later and now we will not be buying a timeshare from Blue Green. Also, my daughter and her husband were looking into the idea. However, he also said that we must not love our children because we are not leaving them a vacation spot. As we were leaving my husband (very calm man), said let us tell the world...! So, I thought this would be the best way.

Thank Goodness We Didn't Buy !
Thank Goodness for Websites like this and all of you folks who took time to share your experiences about Blue Green Resorts. My husband and I went to one of their presentations yesterday in Las Vegas. And yes, when we first got there everyone was dripping with sweetness and "sincerity". We watched their show, saw all the beautiful pictures of the different resorts and were told we could go anywhere...anytime. It looked and sounded so good, we almost caved in and signed on the dotted line. But, having been "burnt before" by slick salespeople, we said we wanted to go home and think about it. Then came the HARD SELL. "You HAVE to sign up NOW or you'll never get another chance". We asked for material to take home and look over.. again "NO YOU CAN'T"
That set off the red flags. We got out of there as fast as we could. Now that I've read all the comments on this site, thank goodness we did. A truly honest company will always give you time to consider your decision to buy or not buy their product. So, if anyone tells you "You have to sign up NOW"... run like the devil because it IS the devil that's chasing you for your money.

misinformation
My husband and I had went to the state fair last year and he had entered us to win a free trip. A few months later he had received a call saying that we had won two free trips, one to Orlando and one to Hawaii. The first one to Orlando was to be 7 days long. They had asked him for a deposit of $398 on the spot. Not being that bright he paid it. I told him that he should never pay for something that is free, but I guess a little late. We scheduled the trip and later got a confirmation book and slip stating all the benefits we were to get. On the slip it said the trip was for 5 days instead of 7 and also that we were to pay for the airfare and extra for the hotel stay. We decided that we were going to postpone the trip being that financially we hadn't known what we were getting ourselves into when we booked it. When we tried to cancel we left several messages and had gotten no return calls. Now we missed the trip because we were unable to reschedule and also are unable to take it when we can afford it. It would be very nice to get some sort of reply about this. I do suppose that we could get a package bundle for less than what we would pay from them but we already have $398 into their company on a non-refundable deposit.

sales staff
Just stayed at the bluegreen resort in Pigeon Forge. Had free tickets for a show so we had to do the sales pitch. Our gat Odessa was as phoney as they come. She insists that she won't bother her if we do not purchase. But I was walking behind her to get my grandson from the play room and she was as catty as they come. She should watch what she says as I was following her.
Of course they try to shame you into purchasing a resort share as if your a lowlife if you don't take these fabulous vacations.
Also they threw in the christian thing to spend time with your family.
And the 1 1/2 hours ends up 3 as they tag team you over and over with offers.
I will accept the free tickets, but I will not purchase a time share.
I stay as guests of the owner who has paid for the points and has the deed for tax write offs.
The condo at Laurel Falls was very nice and clean. The stay was very enjoyable. Keeps you off the downtown area.

Made us wait after others came in
We had a tour at Harbour lights on Feb. 21st. We checked in at around 11:30. Our time for touring was 12:00. There were a few people ahead of us and a lot more came in after us. We actually sat and talked to a couple that came about 20 to 30 minutes after us. They were one of the first called. We waited until around 12:20 and I WENT TO ASK QUESTONS. They had misplaced our paper work. They said someone would be right with us. About 5 more minutes passed and we told them we were leaving. I think this place stinks. People take their time to go there and they get treated this way. We had a 40 min ride plus gas to get there. We were offered 75.00 +vacation + family pic to do this. We got nothing except our time and gas to go there for nothing. They didn't even seem to care. I think this place is a scam. I have family that travels down here a lot and as of now I would not recommended this place to them.

Scam and cheating
Thank you for voicing your opinions, my wife and I truly appreciate it! We had originally purchased a Blue Green membership about a week or two ago and immediately went online to look at consumer reviews, we found this website and all of the "pissed off consumers" here and immediately wrote our cancellation letter and sent it to their corporate office in Florida. The next business day that they were open we contacted the office and told them that we sent the letter in the corporate office and that we wish to cancel, they asked for us to stop into the office, which we did because we wanted to drop off the books that they gave us. When we were there the head salesman told me and I quote "sure you are going to find some complaints, we have 185, 000 owners of course you are not going to make everyone happy, we have a 87% satisfaction rating". I said if that is the case you have about 20, 000 people that are not happy, that is a lot of people. He really tried to make it seem like 20, 000 unhappy owners was not a big deal. He proceeded to try to sell me with a "special deal", at that point I was not interested, gave them their books back and signed a paper saying that I canceled on the specified date. Thanks- fellow consumers for letting us know, not to deal with this company, we really appreciate it, it is a sign that free speech is not dead!
