From the time of installation there were two cracks in this emerald cove fiberglass pool. I quickly informed the pool company 'Hawaiian pools of pinellas, inc.).

The pool as patched (with water in pool) as well as re-fiberglassed (with pool drained) multiple times ( 4 reported complaints). After the second report of cracks, always in the same two spots (deep end directly under light and stairs same spot each time), the manufacture Blue Hawaiian Fiberglass pool representatives personally came to my house and assured they would fix this issue permanently. They were wonderful and informed me to go directly through them for these crack occurrences.

I reported cracks two additional times through the years to the manufacturer with no issues, they scheduled and did the repairs each time through my manufacturer warranty.

Therefore, even though this pool has been a constant and consistent problem with these cracks resurfacing every year or two I have not needed to file a complaint because Blue Hawaiian has taken care of the repairs with no issues.

Now on Oct. 14, 2009 I once again called Shad the office manager to report the newest crack on the stairs (always same location). This time he has defensive (though professional) and stated that this was not a manufactured defect (which is determined if the repair people find 'air' in the material). Shad informed me that the pool contractor went out of business this year and nothing will now be covered under my 35 year shell warranty.

bottom line is I have a constant recurring crack in this fiberglass pool, from day one. I believe this is a manufacturer defect and Blue Hawaiian Fiberglass pools is responsible for the repair. I believe the manufacturer is trying to bafflle me with bullsh*t, so to speak, with the jargon about 'air' is the ONLY way to prove defects. I strongly believe this pool was created cheaply or incorrectly from the beginning, while the patent was pending and not many of these pools were build yet. I believe there is more to being a defective pool shell then just the 'air' test, (how about not enough fiberglass strength or imperfect design). Therefore, this manufacturer is responsible to permanently fix this pool - their pool design.

All I want is the Blue Hawaiian Fiberglass Pool manufacturer to permentant fix the crack on the stairs - with the pool drained properly - under my 35 year shell water as written on ALL their marketing hype and paperwork.

Consumers beware!!! just because you see in the marketing paperwork about warranties it doesn't mean the manufactures will stand up to their words.
