LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE
WHAT A RELIEF TO DISCOVER THAT I AM NOT ALONE IN MY DISAPPOINTMENT WITH THE SERVICE GIVEN TO ME BY BLUE MOUNTAIN CARDS.
IN THE BEGINNING OF THE MONTH OF APRIL I PLANNED AN EVENT AND USED BLUE MOUNTAIN TO ANNOUNCE THE DATE. ONE MONTH HAS PASSED AND I RECEIVED NO RESPONSE TO MY ANNOUNCEMENT . IN FACT, BLUE MOUNTAIN SENT ME NOTIFICATION THAT MY ANNOUNCEMENTS HAD NEVER BEEN OPENED. AFTER CONTACTING EVERY PERSON WHO SUPPOSEDLY HAD BEEN SENT THIS NOTICE I LEARNED THAT THEY HAD NEVER RECEIVED MY ANNOUNCEMENT.
I EXPECT THAT THE SERVICES THAT I PAY FOR TO BE RELIABLE.NOT ONLY HAVE I PAID FOR SERVICES NOT RENDERED, I HAVE AN EVENT TO WHICH NOBODY MAY BE ABLE TO ATTEND.

customer service
Blue Mountain Cards has a very difficult website if you have gotten charged for their service. Their phone support makes it difficult, but not impossible to get help. 888-254-1450 is their automated phone support. The trick to get a live person is to ask for "new membership" when prompted and it will put you through to a live rep, which will then take care of refunding your money and cancelling your account.

Unauthorized charges
Beware of this company which does not conduct business legitimately. All of a sudden I noticed $2.99/month charges appearing on my credit card for Blue Mountain membership. This was never authorized and was still very difficult to cancel. After much effort they still refused to refund all charges and insisted on keeping $2.99 for the first month. I also ordered them to remove me from their mailing list which they agreed to do but to this day I'm still receiving weekly marketing mail. How this company can operate as they do within the letter of the law I'll never know. Scum of the highest order and thieves by any legal definition I'm aware of.

Talking to a real life person
Contacting Blue Mountain Cards Customer Service is almost impossible (by design I imagine).

I was getting charged $2.99/month for an account that was not active and I could not find a telephone number anywhere on the website and canceling the account with the online option was not working because I did not have an active account. I searched online for the phone number and got these ones:

1-888-254-1450 (correct number)
1-800-711-4474 (gets you to the same place)

Both of these numbers get you to an incredibly aggravating automated phone service that never directs you to a person and eventually hangs-up on you.

If you want to talk to a person:

1) call the 1-888-254-1450 number
2) in the first menu of options choose "new membership"

This will put you on hold to talk to a person. Wait. I repeat wait a long time and eventually you will get a person. They are very nice and in no way responsible for this corporate designed marketing system that encourages you to hang-up and give up. In fact the person on the phone is well aware of the problems with their customer service and will tell you exactly what I told you here for getting in touch with a person.

Good luck and be wary of Blue Mountain Cards.

unauthorized renewal
Beware of this company. They will automatically bill you for renewal that you did not authorize.

Billing, unavailability of help, inability to access account
Charged in December 2008 after free trial. I was never able to access my account and an e-mail requesting assistance went unanswered. Now, in November 2009, I have a new charge for a subscription. No way to reach company.

email scam
I recieved an email offering a "FREE" greeting card. As I am following the link and conpleting information when it became obvious this was not a "FREE" offer. I aborted the process but not early enough as this company had my name and address. I then started to recieve a statement from BILL ME LATER for a service which I did not order. I continued to recieve billing statements that showed late fees and intertest again for again something I did not agree to.

Two phone calls to BILL ME LATER had no results and after letters to them, their collection agency and the Florida Consumers services, I recieved a letter from BILL ME LATER that I should have read the "fine print".

These companies, Blue Mountain Cards and BILL ME LATER both prey on unsuspecting individuals through the offer of "FREE" items and the billing of unsolicited services which were not agreed to or used.

I will not use the services of any website that uses BILL ME LATER and recommend to all my friends and relatives to "BE AWARE" as well.

e card Scam
http://www.bluemountain.com/

My wife subscribed to this free trial of e-cards which advised the account would be cancelled in 14 days. It was not cancelled and we were charged $15.99 (£9.87). The credit card came in and I questioned it and she advised that it was only one card she had sent and it was on a free trial basis. I looked at the website and there is nowhere in the site of the value to be charged. It looks like there are a number of people beened scammed with this so STAY WELL CLEAR! I told my wife that there is nothing for free in this world someone has to pay for it somewhere and do not give credit card details especially if it does not state how much it is going to cost clearly they are hiding something ie A SCAM!!!

difficult to cancel auto renewal
I finally found out how to unsubscribe from the auto system. Call 1-800-711-4474 and follow the auto system to new accounts. You get a real person and you can then unsubscribe.
