overcharged and vandalized
My timing belt went on my 01 eclipse, I replaced it myself with the help of my father, who was a mechanic for 20 years. Couldn't get the car to start so we thought the dealer could figure it out quicker than we could, BIG MISTAKE. They told me the timing was off 3 teeth and that was the problem (yea, right). After I paid them over 500$ to re-time the belt, it still wouldn't start, so then they tell me its the car's computer that's causing it not to start and they try charging me 6 or 700$ more for a new one (I suspected this was WAY too much for an ecu, so sure enough I found one online for less than half of what they wanted for one ). So they charge me another 250$ to put that in . CAR STILL WON'T START ! Then I receive a phone call over the weekend informing me that my car was broken into, back window was smashed out and my 1000$ stereo was stolen. They told me they filed a police report, about a month later I call the police department only to find out no such report was ever filed... WTF ?!?! Finally decided that I'd had enough of giving these guys all my money for nothing and went to pay my balance off and tow the thing home. I go to pay the balance, and I asked them if they could work with me a little considering my car was damaged while under their care. They say the best they can do is get me a back window from their supplier for DEALER cost and put it in for free. So he calls the supplier and tells me the window is going to cost 650$ ! I call the same glass supplier to get a quote, and they told me the window was only 450$. Figures. So now I'm over 2000$ in on this car and its in worse condition then it was before I brought it to thse "experts". These guys will rip you off ANY WAY THEY CAN ! They got me good, don't let it happen to you !!!
