We should have read the signs but we ingnored them. We originally went to Bob's in mid June 09 and picked out a bedroom suite. I wasn't very impressed with the salesman and the way he seemed to try to gnore me and talk to my Husband even after my husband told him several times that he needed to talk to me that I was the one that would make the purchasing decisions. I had looked at Bob's website so I knew going in what i wanted but still wanted to see what else they had. Well I chose and the salesman went to write up the sale after a few minutes he returned and told us that the bed that went with the set was "out of stock and wouldn't be back in stock until mid July " we told him that we didn't want to wait on delivery so we would come back mid July when it was back in stock so we could recieve delivery on the whole set at one time.
We returned in July and I was imediately not happy when they told us we would have to continue our business with the same distasteful saleman we had last time. When he finally showed up he managed to insult my intelegence in the first five minutes when again my husband had to remind him to talk to me and not him.
While I was placing the order for the bedroom set (we ordered several extra pieces to add to the set) my husband recieved a call on his cellphone (his job required him to be on-call 24/7)so he excused himself to take the call. To my utter horror, the salesman starts telling me thats why he leaves his cellphone in his car because he refuses to be "one of the rude people" I couldn't even believe that in the middle of me buying about 3 grand worth of furniture that he would be making a commission on he would have the nerve to insult my husband to my face! It wasn't like he was supposed to be dealing with my husband at all in fact my husband told this man several times to speak to me na d not him. I excused myself to find my husband and tell him what has happened while the salesman went to place our order.
He returned to tell us that the bed was still out of stock but assured us if we put off delivery for two weeks the bed would be back in stock so we could have to entire set delivered on the same day, which was the reason we waited to place the order until July to begin with and to also telll us that he made a mistake in the order paperwork when we were there the first time and now the price was $195.00 more and he couldn't figure out why, which of course we would have to pay.
If it only ended there...
The furniture arrived on the scheduled day for which my husband took the day off work to accomodate but of course, everything but the bed was on the truck, we just paid $1600.00 for a mattress we now would have to put on the floor because someone didn't even have the courtesy to call and let us know that the bed wasn't coming and we gave away the old set that morning. Many phone calls later we were told that the bed could be delivered in 5 days which it was but it was all scratched and dented...
Many phone calls later we were promised a new bed the next week.
It is now Sept. and we are now waiting on our sixth delivery of our bed because every time they bring one it has been broken.
they haven't been any kind of explanations or compensations for the time missed from work or trouble we have gone through and will probably still be going through for who knows how long.
Believe me there is even more unbelievable stuff that's happened in this saga, like delivery men sleeping in my front yard, delivery men showing up early or late or insisting one of us leave work immediately to meet them when they weren't even scheduled to be at my house.
It's a never ending nightmare!
I would never ever have even gone there had I had any idea what was in store for me.
My husband says " if the bed is broken next time they arrive their taking the whole set back with them" Amen to that!
