broken furniture and no help
I bought a recliner and a double reclining couch. Within the first week the recliner had a huge rip between the fake leather trim and the side material on the outside of the arm. They came the next week and they fixed it. Very poorly. There is a huge indentation where it was sewn up.

Within another few weeks, a coil came loose in the back of the recliner, and the couch reliner would not open all the way. Then it became impossible to close the recliner from the open position unless you slipped off and then got down on your hands and knees to push it.

So, I called for repair. They were to come April 15th. They never showed up. I called back and they told me that I had the wrong date. It was April 22. They didn't show up. I called again, and I was sure to get a confirmation number and a name for this past Friday May 6th. Of course they did not come.

I have the year warrentee, as well as the goof proof guarentee. It makes sense now. If they never show up, then you can have as many promises as they want to give you. They do not honor anything at all.

Does anyone have any advice?

Customer Service
Ordered a living room set & tables from Bob's furniture in February. It is now April 22nd and still no furniture. My wife had to take off of work, only to be told that the tables were damaged. This after the week prior, they never even bothered showing up or letting us know that they wouldn't show. And if you talk to their "customer service", they are totally clueless and offer no help whatsoever. Never again.

Bed
i bought a bed at bob's on 2007. they never brought me the headboard that I paid for and now the box spring broke and they told me that it was customer doing and they are not replacing it. This is ridicules and I will never buy another thing from them again.. They don't know how to honor there furniture and they find excuses and blame the customer..

Thanks to everyone for the reviews. We were thinking about purchasing a bedroom set from Bob's but after reading the horror stories there is no way I'm ever setting foot in one of those stores. Sounds like a nightmare! So thanks for the warnings.

Junky Furniture
In February, my husband and I picked out a bedroom set complete with lamps from Bob's. We explained to the salesman that we wouldnt be able to accept delivery until early March because we had a lot of work to do to the room. He made us feel comfortable and told us, no problem, there are plenty of sets in the warehouse. Well, when March came, I called to have the furniture delivered and was told that the set was on backorder until mid-April and the lamps were no longer available. We had no bed to sleep on and so we picked our second choice bedroom set instead. The delivery came about a week later with half of the 8 pieces broken. I sent 4 pieces back and a new delivery date was set. The next time the furniture came, 3 pieces were still broken. I am now awaiting delivery number 3 and still have no bed. It will not surprise me if the 3 pieces that come tomorrow are all broken. When you call customer service, they are very friendly and apologetic, but that doesnt help you get your complete bedroom set. Basically, Bob's furniture is cheaply made and I am sorry I ever started with them. Other companies dont make you pay in full before you receive your furniture. I am sure Bob's will eventually go out of business and I hope I stopped at least one person from buying anything from them.

POOR MERCHANDISE
I bought a $3500 bedroom package and it's been a nightmare ever since! 4 redliveries and still having problems with poor quality and defective merchandise

Sells Items They Don't Currently Have Without Informing Consumer
Purchased couch, chair, ottoman and antique cabinet on 1/16/11. Paid in full at time of purchase because salesman did not tell me they only require 20% deposit and balance 5 days prior to delivery. Was not informed cabinet was "special order". In fact, I was told at time of purchase all items were in stock and could be delivered in 1-2 weeks. Scheduled delivery for end of January at time of purchase. Received automated call night prior to delivery confirming but asked to call to confirm someone would be home. Made several attempts but kept on hold for more than 1/2 hour each time by automated system. Finally got through to store only to find out that it would be a partial delivery. They claimed the cabinet was damaged in transit. They asked if I wanted the partial delivery or to wait for full shipment in February. I opted for February and was given a delivery date of 2/24/11. The partial delivery showed up anyway which I explained to the delivery men that it had been rescheduled and they left with no problem. I called the store and they told me they cancelled the delivery and didn't know why it had come. They again confirmed the 2/24/11 delivery but no call received on 2/23 as promised to confirm a time so I again called the store only to be told that the item was again damaged in transit. Would not have another for at least a month. I told them this was unacceptable and wanted to speak with a manager. I was told it was his day off. I insisted I speak with someone in charge. They told me call back tomorrow. I again insisted and was told I would speak with another manager. Hmm, I was conveniently disconnected while on hold. I called back and was put on hold to be transferred. The manager had a bad attitude from the start. Made no headway. Finally agreed to call me with more information the next day. The next day was a repeat of information from the day before. No delivery would be made. He hung up on me. I called the store and asked for his boss. They wouldn't tell me who that was only that he was on his day off. I asked for that person's boss was told they didn't know who that was. I asked for the name of the Regional Manager and they refused instead asking me what it was in regard to. I said I wanted to file a complaint. I insisted on the Regional Manager's name. Same runaround. I finally got his name but was told he wasn't in that office. I called corporate and was given yet another voicemail. Left a message but did not return my call. Called corporate again and told I couldn't reach anyone. I was offered to be connected with "Bob's secretary" and said she would take care of it. I again got voicemail. I left two messages with no return calls. Tried to call the salesman who was supposed to be tracking my order but was told it was his day off. Spoke again with the first manager who now tells me the item wasn't damaged this second time but that the factory hasn't been able to fill the order and they are still trying to fill orders from November, 2010. I suggested they not sell anymore of this cabinet until the factory can catch up but he poo pooed me. I asked that they give me the showroom cabinet until they can supply a new one. He said "that's not gonna happen". They knowingly sell items they can't deliver in a timely fashion. Because the store requires you to clear the room prior to delivery I had all my furniture removed by a junk dealer and have had no furniture since the first delivery date. Now it will be another 4-6 weeks! They don't care. Told me I should have taken the couch and chair. However, if I did that I have a feeling I would never receive the cabinet and since it was the cabinet that I built the room around I wouldn't want the rest of the furniture since one is brown and the other red and the cabinet is the only thing tying it together. Try returning the couch and chair when they tell me the cabinet has been discontinued! Have not received a new delivery date for March but doubt it will be available even then. Checked with Better Business Bureau. They have a rating of F. Lowest you can get! All websites I found have similar experiences. Shouldn't be allowed the fraudulent practice of selling items and taking payment when they can't meet their contractual obligations with the consumer. Obviously have worked out an automated system to protect them from all the complaints.

Customer Service
First it took 2 and 1/2 hours to check out for a small chair. The computer keep going down. Second, they just called me with an automated call and stated that because of the storm that they would have to reschedule my delivery. That was fine, but I waited on hold for 25 minutes and them when the girl picked up she put me on hold agian for another 5 minutes. This chair is for an 80 year old woman moving into an assisted living faciltiy. They could not schedule the delivery until 3 days past the original date. This is past the move in date and this is the major piece of furniture in the room. Now I asked for a Supervisor and the girl put me on hold for another 10 minutes and them told me her supervisor was busy and could not talk to me. She also stated that if i wanted an earlier delivery that I would have to call the store. When I called the store I recieved another automated answering machine which took me right back to customer service and not the store. I accepted a Saturday delivery. I went to the web site and there is no place to lodge a compliant. Never shop there again! The saving are not worth it! I will pay more at Jordon's and get great service.

POOR SERVICE
Good luck getting in touch with a human being if you experience any problems. I hung up after 45 mins. waiting on hold. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more money at another store and save yourself alot of aggravation!

Never pay cash them
I bought an Entertainment Console from Bob's along with some other furniture to save on shipping. I made the huge mistake of paying in cash.

At time of purchase, I told them that I needed to measure my living room to make sure that it would fit. Anyway it did not, I called them 2 days in advance to cancel the Entertainment Console, they said it was already loaded in the truck (kinda strange since it was 2 days in advance of the delivery). Anyway, from then on it is just a process of calling and not getting return calls. 3 months, 5 phone calls, countless hours on hold and, and now they said they still haven't sent the check. It has been 6 weeks waiting the check and now they said they never sent it at all, just f**king incredible how these people do business.

I have spent over $7K there in the past but I will Never, never, never buy from Bob's Discount Furniture again!!!
