QUALITY AND HANDLING OF REPAIR
On 7/3/09 we purchased a reclining sofa and love seat for $999.99. It was delivered on 7/8/09 and by 9/29/09, that's right, 2 and 1/2 months later 3 of the 4 recliners were broken. In the process of closing the recliners the mechanism just bent. I called and it took 2 weeks for someone to come down to tell me that they need to order parts. The man told me it would take a couple of weeks to receive the parts. That the parts will be mailed to my address and then I would have to set up another appointment to have someone come down and repair it. After a month of waiting I called the customer care to find out that it will indeed take 16 WEEKS TO RECEIVE THE PARTS. I SHOULD EXPECT IT JANUARY 16TH, 2010...THEN I NEED TO CALL TO SET AN APPOINTMENT TO GET THE REPAIR DONE. WE OWNED THE FURNITURE FOR ONLY 2 AND A 1/2 MONTHS BUT IT WILL TAKE 5 MONTHS TO HAVE IT REPAIRED...ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS...WE WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER PIECE OF FURNITURE FROM ANY BOB STORE AGAIN...

Damaged video consle
Nice and simple...we bought a video console from Bob's Furniture. Here's how our experience unfolded:
* Sept 1st 2009 - Video console we bought was delivered with damages.
* Oct 17th 2009 - Serviceman visited to repair the damage. Serviceman identified a replacement video console was needed.
* Oct 31st 2009 - A replacement arrived damaged. It was not accepted.
* Nov 7th 2009 - Another replacement arrived damaged. This even after Bob's Furniture told use they would inspect the replacement in their warehouse before it was shipped to us. It was not accepted.
* Nov 21st 2009 - Two months later we accepted a 30% refund on our original video console purchase price but we had to give up our manufacturers warranty claim in order to get this discount on our video console.
We will NEVER buy anything from Bob's Furniture again!!! Take notice.

warehouse hours
I just wanted to make a complaint about the warehouse hours. At no time during the week is bob's warehouse opened past 5 except for on wednesday's of which they close promptly at 7 and you have to arrive there a half an hour early at 6:30. Most people have to work until 5 or 6. Most of bob's competition stores such as jordans stays open till 9 this makes me feel that bob is simply not up to the task of being the best. Next time i will think twice before ever buying any thing from here again. I am willing to pay a little more for furniture for managment that can think on the customers level.

Horrible Sales, Customer Care, Deliver Staff
Hi Everyone,
This is the first time that I am using this forum and I am hoping that it will help people stop and think about buying furniture from Bob's Discount Furniture. My girlfriend and I spent over $3, 500 on a dining room set, living room set and bedroom set in one visit. The Sales Representative promised that everything would be delivered on our move-in date of Saturday, September 12, 2009. Since I'm creating this post, you can guess that we ran into a ton of problems.
First, the delivery team forgot to load a foot board which made it impossible for them to build the bed. We were then forced to sleep on the floor for 4 days because it was not convenient for them to deliver it sooner. One of the nightstands that we purchased, wasn't even on the order! Also, the dining room table was chipped and warped. Since it is now on back order, my girlfriend and I have to call them once a week to see the status of receiving a new table. Their Customer Care staff is smug, rude and intolerable. They will promise you a call back and you can be waiting for that phone call for over a year. Also the only compensation that they will offer for your troubles is a gift card to their store. DO NOT SHOP THERE PEOPLE!!! YOU WILL GET SCREWED!!!

repair
Bought sectional from Bobs first week of February... their delivery people broke them in several areas bringing them into my home. It is now the first week of August and they say they still have not received the parts needed to repair them ! ! Ridiculous.

Horrible expierence
My boyfriend and I bought a house two months ago and purchased our Bobs furniture a month before we moved into the house. I spent close to $5000.00, a new bedroom set and my entire living room. The first delivery was fine and great no problems. Furniture came new and the crew was nice and did a good job. However our Media Center was on backorder for 2 months!! Each time I called they told me next week next, that went on for the entire month of June. I finally got my media center last friday, but not before arguing with them of why they cant schedule the delievery when I'm home, they said because their computer schedules everything they have no control on the schedule, needless to say I have to have my boyfriends mother at my house at 730am and wait for the table to come. When I got home, the table was full of dust, the draw was broken, had scratches and a dent in it along with a heavy duty staple hanging out the bottom. So I called and demanded a new table, which was fine they said ok you'll have it next week. So that was solved.
Now my bed, after 3 weeks of having it the middle slat on the bottom snapped. I called for them to come replace it, so they came this past thursday. When the tech came he had the wrong piece and in front of my boyfriend tried jamming it into the mail side rail and then sawed off a piece of the middle slat to make it smaller to fit. On top of that put scratches and chips in the bed. Ok so the slat was fixed, but then two nights later the bed collapsed completely while sleeping in it on the side where the tech was working!! I couldnt believe my bed on basically on the floor. So after calling and arguing with Customer Service after an hour they said they will send out a tech next week, next week?!?! We're sleeping on the floor!! So I called back again and spoke to a supervisor he pushed up the Tech to Wednesday, but I mean come on I want a new bed, I dont want this one fixed, they obviously dont know how to fix it right, cause they just made it worse!! So I had to threaten them with a Lawyer and the Better Business Bureau for them to put me through to the Corporate Office and the guy on the phone said I will have a new bed in my house by Thursday. I went through so much crap and so many headaches with their stupid customer service and stupid policies. When your furniture break because your tech didnt know what he was doing you give the customer what they want period!! Especially when its only 2 months old and the customer spends $5000 in your store!!!

desk delivered damaged
Have bunk beds purchased at Bob's a few years ago...went back to purchase matching desk, and did so immediately. Desk was delivered damaged, and a new desk was to be delivered the following week. No call, no desk! When I called, a new delivery date was set. On that date, I received a call, telling me VERY rudely that the desk had been discontinued and that my only option was to keep the damaged desk, or return it. I told them that undiscounted, the desk was not worth it (chipped corners, drawers that didn't slide...a floor model, I was told), and to please pick it up. They arrived within 10 minutes to retreive their desk. When I called customer service to inquire as to why I had not been informed that the desk had been "discontinued", I was dealt with in the most trivial and rude fashion. I sent an e-mail to their regional offices, and was told that they INDEED had desks, undamaged, in their warehouse facility, and I would receive a call the following day to get a new, undamaged one. Not only am I still waiting for this phone call (for about 2 months), I amstill being billed for a desk that I do not have!

broken sofa
Bought a sofa from Bob's Discount Furniture. The frame broke within 2 years. called Gardsman only to be told a claim could not be filed over the phone, they had to send me forms. I filled out the forms and sent them back only to be denied because "claim was not filed within 5 days of mishap.Got no where with either Bob's or Guardsman. Try calling for service and you get put in a loop on the phone. Try to contact corporate office, you are put back into the same loop try the internet NO WAY how doyou contact Bob for service or even to have him make good his promises in his TV ad's. Bob won best retailer for 2008. Look out if this is as good as it gets.

LAME EVERYTHING
I purchased a wall unit from Bob's in FEBRUARY...I was told 2 weeks to delivery - 2 weeks turned into 2 MONTHS...yes, I said 2 MONTHS...AND...when it was finally delivered in APRIL, it was broken and had to be returned and rescheduled for another date. The store only offered their "appologies" and never any compensation for me taking a day off of work for the delivery, or in the least offering to drop the delivery charge. I will NEVER shop at Bob's again...it may be cheaper but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Rudeness
I ordered a living room set in early Febuary. I put a $100.00 deposit down and was told I would be contacted in a week for payment and delivery arrangements. They told me a part of the sectional was not available but would be ready by the time I would be talking to them next week. So betwen moving and setting up house I didn't mind that they were late in calling me. So three weeks later I finally could use the couch set and figured that I gave them enough time to get everything together. So I called them and inquired about paying and delivery. The person I talked to said everything was all set and to come on down and pay and arrangements would be made. I got there and I payed in full and was told the delivery arrangements couldn't be made because the people involved with that were not there. So I went home and called the next day. I was told another part to the set was not available so could they have to the end of the week and they would call.No call, but I had a construction project going so again I could wait because the house was a mess.So now seven weeks have gone by and I call them ( notice they never once called me to inquire about any of this ). They say the section to the set was still not available. So I say I want to cancel. The lady acts shocked and says WHY? I tell them its been seven weeks since I ordered and I still can't have the set? She sounds mad and says she can't cancel she needs to talk to her manager and they will call back. The manager doesn't call back she does and says everything is all set the set will be delivered that saturday. I say, no I don't want it anymore and she is really upeset with ME. I say OK can I have free delivery and maybe 10% discount and she hung up on me. Now I'm sitting there wondering if I canceled or is the set coming saturday. Then the manager finally calls and asks me what was the problem, he was told by this lady that hung up on me, that the only reason I don't want the set anymore is that I was refused free delivery because they don't do that. I told him the whole story and he said I would have to come back down to the store to cancel my credit payment. I will be going down there and I will be bringing my father in law because I'm nervous.I will NEVER buy anything from this store and I would like to warn others not to walk out of the store without your stuff because once you pay for it they don't care if you get it.
