My wife and I returned for the fourth time in a few weeks time to eat here. The first three times were actually pretty decent, but this time the food just didn't look that great. My wife wasn't deterred however, and promptly got violently sick afterwards from the boboi and feijada. I had noticed that the roasted beets, one of my favorite vegetables, had a fermented scent to them but by that time I had already consumed some. My lot was a bit better, but anyay, we won't be back. Too bad, San Diego could use a decent, affordable Brazilian eatery. Boi Preto received a citation from the local board of health in July this year for salad bar food kept at the wrong temperature. We called Boi Preto to complain and were told we could return to the Restaurant for a refund. So I went down to collect our refund. I spoke to the woman that served us our meat the last time. She apologized and offered an excuse for us getting sick. She said that she had heated the food too much and caused it to spoil. The young girl beside her had the same questioning look as we did. I have never heard of anyone getting sick by heating food too long. Needless to say we will neverr return to this place again. Getting sick is one thing, but to be given such a ridiculous reason by a woman wearing a chefs coat. We were embarrassed for her. I will report our illness to the health department as well.
