Fraud
I would like to send a complaint against the bookinhotels.com.
In 25th of June 2009 I made a reservation for a room in Castromira Hotel in Lisbon for 6th to 18th of Sep. and paid 333.3 euro.
Due to some problems, before the date option I cancelled the reservation and received the email confirmed this cancellation without any penalties on 29th of August. In the email they mentioned that "refunds are made in the form of a credit to the card account. All credit card refunds are processed in a timely manner. Typically, this process takes several weeks (business days) for the instruction to leave their company account. The refunds process depends on your billing cycle with the cooperated credit card company. Once the refunded amount leaves their company account, it may take up to two months time for the proceeds to appear back in my account." But unfortunately, by now there have been no refunds. In addition, I have sent more than 10 emails, but I have not received any response yet. There are some telephone numbers in their website but there in no one to answer. When I searched in the web I found a lot of complaint against this service!
So, today I contacted with my bank, unfortunately they said they can not do anything because it has been passed more than 4 months from the payment date.
Do you have a solution for me to have back my money? and how to stop this fraud website?

Bookinhotels are a fraud and are stealing people's money
Bookinhotels are a fraud and are stealing people's money! We experienced the same thing as the other published reviews. When we arrived at our hotel we found our reservations to be cancelled without our authority. They have never refunded our money. (approx. $1200) We have written dozens of "complaint" emails and when we call the "customer service" number we get a recording from a person in a foreign language. We are frustrated and we are victims of fraud! We are contacting the Better Business Bureau and reporting them. Never do business with Bookinhotels.com!!!

hotel booking
Hello
I made a reservation for the Metropolitan Hotel in Delhi during March 2009 for a two day stay in Aug 2009. On arrival at the hotel, I was informed that my reservation was non existant. I had to pay again for the hotel. After emailing bookinhotels.com they said that they had to cancel the reservation. I tried to phone them - no answer!!! Eventually I got an email from them to say that they would refund the money. To this day I have not had a refund from them and it has been over a year.
Booking reference with bookinhotels.com was BKH-453937-174899 they said that they had already made a refund which may take 3 months to arrive onto my credit card. Still nothing!!!

No refund of cancellation
I had to cancel a hotel reservation to Paris for the week of June 16-22, 2009 because I had to have knee surgery on June 4th and was going to be unable to make the trip. I cancelled my reservation on April 29, 2009 when I found out I couldn't go. I had made the reservation on April 2, 2009. I have e-mailed almost a dozen times and get an answer about a third of the time saying the refund is on the way and it never shows up. It has now been EIGHT months since I cancelled. This is the biggest ripoff scam I have ever seen - these people are criminals.

hotel booking and non refund
I have posted previously on this website about this compan, bookinhotels.com, and about a very bad experience we had with them back in August 2009. My wife and her friend were left high and dry in the middle of London with no hotel booking despite holding a booking confirmation. To cut a long story short bookinhotels blamed financial problems and offered a refund. Despite making many phonecalls and being promised to give a refund it never materialised. I have since reported them to the credit card company and have got a refund through the credit card company whilst they investigate.
However, I not that the company is still trading and still ripping people off. I have no idea why this website is still operational and why it cant be stopped. Its criminal. I only hope that people see this posting and dont book with them. Avoid this company like the plaque. I have also reported them to the internet crimes board in the states which is run by the FBI but I never got a repsonse. Also I have reported them to watchdog. There should be an easy way of removing sites like this.
Ripoff merchants!!!
the company in london that offered the system is just as bad as they knew what was happening and did nothing to inform customers.

unpaid accommodation
Hotel booking made in May and paid for by credit card for a week in Barcelona. Voucher sent to us and when we arrived in Barcelona, we were told that it had not been paid for by Bookinhotels and there were several people who had arrived with the similar story.
No answer to telephone calls or emails and we are down about 425 Euros for the booking.
Telephone numbers are in London and USA and neither number is answered in a decipherable language.
They are still trading I believe and ripping people off.
Can anything be done. I believe they started trading in2003 and thought they were reliable.

The Company failed to refund the cancellation bookings
BookInHotels.com failed to refund my cancellation bookings. They promised to refund me in 2 weeks but 3 after I still haven't received the money. I tried to get my money back from HSBC but even HSBC failed to get my money from the compay. The telephone number on the website is not working any more.
Totally I lost £274.68.

Fraudulent hotel booking company
I was stitched up by these con-artists! Booked a 2nd night in London three months in advance as my 1st night hotel was full. On arrival was told that my booking didnt exist. I was really upset as a female laden with luggage and travelling as a birthday treat with my 16yr old child. The proprieter tried to contact the company but got someone (possibly a recording) not in English. I was a little suspicious of the proprieter too who said she'd check with her relative who had the hotel next door who wanted to charge me an astronomical amount.
Fortunately I was able to contact my son who got onto the internet and manged to secure me a room at a hotel close by. Although I only paid £50 for the room I had to pay out a lot more for a replacement hotel and wasted 3 hours of my trip. I havent received a reply to my emails but on reading some of your posts I will keep trying

Did not honour my hotel reservation
I made a reservation on 18 Feb. 2009 for a hotel room on the 26/27th Sept 2009. I received the prepaid voucher and confirmation of the booking and did not suspect anything until I tried to book in. The reservation had not been made and I had to pay for an available room on checkout. I have tried to contact the company via their website and by the customer service phone number given to no avail. Today when I tried to ring again it seems that the number has been disconnected. This company has stolen my money and still has its website available to scam other customers. When are we likely to see a policing of the web to prevent scams like this?
