Customer Service
I had booked a room at the Palmer House in Miami. They were supposed to open in March. They were not open in time for my trip. Bookit.com had the Palmer House make a new reservation for me at a lesser quality hotel. When I spoke to bookit.com they did nothing to correct the situation. I wound up spending 3 times what my room was worth.
Will never use Bookit.com again.

Lied about service
I reserved a "mystery" room with Bookit.com. In the online reservation process they let me select the room type and number of beds (2 queens). When I arrived at the hotel the information I selected in the reservation process did not reflect the actual room reserved (1 king). Not an ideal situation for four people. When I called customer service they told me they did not have the number of beds requested in the reservation because I didn't call and even if they did have the bedding requirements they could not guarantee the number of beds I would get because "bedding" (requirements) are considered a request. They did essentially nothing to help resolve the situation and I was required to pay additional fees to for roll-a-way beds. Had I known there bed "request" policy I would never have used them to book $500 reservations that in the end cost me over $600 due to hidden fees. I will NEVER use their service again and recommend others avoid using them too.

Terrible service
Bookit.com is terrible. I tried booking my honeymoon with these people and when I tried to cancel my trip because I was going to go through Sandals directly, they said they were going to hit me with a bunch of fees. The customer service is basically non-existent. On their website it says that there is no cancellation fee, so I booked through sandals directly (it was $300 cheaper). I ended up having two flights. I explained my problem to bookit.com and the customer service rep was exteremely rude. After explaining my situation he said they were going to hit me with a fee if I cancelled or did anything with my reservation and I should have known better when I reserved my booking. He then hung up on me. Not only had I been sitting on the phone for an hour, but he said nothing to try to help me out in my situation. I subsequently called Sandals and they said they had not processed my flight yet and they cancelled my booking at my request. They were very helpful and I am glad I booked with them. I just wish I hadn't booke through bookit.com. Dealing with them is not worth a little savings (and in this case, they were more expensive!)

Bookit.com Ruined My Trip
My boyfriend and I had decided to plan a trip to Mexico over spring break in March of 2010. We searched for hours for the best deal and finally decided on Bookit.Com, which had far and away the best deal. We booked for March 14th-19th of 2010, airline, hotel and transfers. When we went to print our confimation email about two weeks before we were scheduled to leave, we discovered that the booking was made for FEBRUARY 14th-19th.
Reasonably you could imagine that it is possible we made the mistake and we had chosen the incorrect month when we booked, if we hadn't double, triple and quadruple checked the dates, as well as read them off to a family member whilst booking.

So, thanks to a glitch in their computer system, my boyfriend and I have had to spend 1, 000 more than we originally booked for (each) and have spent over 4 hours calling bookit and being placed on hold for an hour or more being transferred around to representatives which are rude and unhelpful and unwilling to admit that there could have possibly been a glitch in their system.

DO NOT USE BOOKIT.

customer service SUCKS!
Booked vacation through their web site, when I tried to call them to modify my flights I couldn't get anyone on the phone! I tried 6 times and was on hold for a total of 4 hours without speaking to a single person!!!

THEY SUCK HARD!

Stay far away unless you want aggravation
A good deal is only "good" if it works works from start to finish, but with bookit.com youll need a miracle for that to happen. They advertise a "Mystery" room in Ft. Lauderdale but fiil to tell you that you will be staying in a business hotel where you will be the only one not wearing a suit. I guess the hotel has to fill up and Bookit.com is located in Florida so they must have some deal to frustrate vacationers.

If thats not enough, when I called the hotel to confirm my reservation they told me that I have none! "But I have a confirmation number" I explained to the receptionist, but she said "nothing doing". After 2 hours on the side of the road fighting with the Westin hotel and being transferred to different Wesitn hotels in Ft. Lauderdale area, I felt like an ass and called Bookit.com to find out what the hell was going on. Turns out someone left off the first letter of my last name and bookit.com denies they screwed up. Only problem now was that I was not walking into that hotel and feeling like an ass so I asked bookit.com to consider my situation and book me at another hotel in Florida. Considering the time I spent on the side of the road and agreeing that someone messed up with the reservation, any normal company would apologize and see what they can do to make me feel comfortable but Bookit.com tells me to screw myself and they will charge me for the canclation.

I dont believe the company has any integrity and makes no effort to maintain customers. They are looking for a 1 time screw and theyre banking on that there are many customers out there.

Do yourself a favor...pay a bit extra and save the aggravation. For a good deal and savings use www.getaroom.com also located in florida but a respectable company.

I worked for them!
I worked for Bookit.com from March 2009 to June 2009. This is the most screwed up company I have ever worked for. Let's start with how they treat their employees first. It is a call center, which means although they are always hiring, they do not have enough employees working for them. Why? Because everyone quits! Which in turn means the customers aren't getting good customer service because there aren't enough people to answer the calls. Also, when an upset customer calls and demands to speak with the manager...THE MANAGERS WILL NOT GET ON THE PHONE!! They expect the agent to take care of it. Seriously! The agent will be on the phone with a screaming customer while the manager is standing right there telling the agent what to say! Usually all the customer wants is the pleasure of speaking with a manager and they are fine, but bookit doesn't care. They leave all that stress for underpaid agents who end up quiting because they can't deal with it any longer. And their break system!!! You either are allowed 1 30 min lunch break or 2 15 min smoke breaks...so that means if you are a smoker...it's either...do I want to eat or do I want to smoke and relieve some of this stress?!?
Now lets move to the customer part of it...pretty much EVERY mistake or error or problem that a customer calls about is NOT their fault! Blame it on the hotel, blame it on the airlines, blah blah blah. Yes they do have to go by the other companies rules and all that BUT I will tell you now, half of the errors people called in about WERE bookits fault but yet we were told to blame it on the other complanies and make sure you do not give any money back!!! Yes, they are a complete scam! I work in customer service and I would NEVER treat my customers the way they do. If my customer is unhappy and upset, I'll find any way I can to make them 200% happy with my company again! Your best bet is to arrange everything yourself and to not use a middle man!

I was trying to research some flight information. But, kept getting an error message saying my email address was erroneous. Well, I bed to differ. I have had this same email address for 7-8 years. And I have no intention whatsover of changing it merely for the PRIVELEGE of allowing you to help me. Blank you! I will make my flight and hotel reservations unassisted!
Oh, I forgot, the other error message I keep getting is that my email address is already in use. No kidding! It is in use because it is mine!! Tell whichever computer geek came up with this brilliant idea so het his head out of his ass!

Fraudulent Company
This company makes promises they don't intend to keep. The hotel (which is their OWN CLIENT) informed me that BookIt failed to make my reservation properly and therefore left me in a closet of a room for 4 times the normal price.

Then BookIt offered to remedy the situation by offering me a better hotel...but when I accepted, they attempted to charge me the $800 difference in price.

Beware of this company. You can get a MUCH better deal contacting the hotel directly AND you'll have the peace of mind that your booking was actually done right.

Poor Quality
I booked my Honeymoon with Bookit.com, I purchased the flight, hotel, Car and entertainment tickets to Disneyland. First of all, my flights were changed and Bookit.com did not look at where they had placed me and my new wife. we were not even siting by each other. I would think that as a travel agency you would make sure that your clients were by each other as specified in thier order. We had to pay $100.00 each to change them. then bookit never told me that they do not pay the taxes for the cars. so when we got the car I ended up shelling out another $80.00 in taxes. This is something that would not happen normaly if I were to just pay for it myself. then when we got to the hotel, The Best Western in Walt disney World, the hotel looked great from the outside, but then you go into the hotel room and there are stains all over the carpet, the walls are black and dirty, and it smells like pee. they also charge you a $8.00 fee per day. Then when we went in for the continental breakfast it was a Bagal and a muffin, if I wanted something else it would be $7.00. my total cost was about about $2200.00 I could have stayed at the Hilton, in a king suite with a upgraded rental car for the week and it would have costed me just an additional $50.00 a day. the averages about $15.o0 per item per day. I will tell you what, there is a reason why Expedia does not do a whole lot of vacation packages, it is because they take more pride in thier work. if you are looking at Bookit.com i highly recomend just doing it all yourself, you will enjoy it more. you can email me at [email protected] if you would like, I will be happy to share with you in detail on what happend.
