Don't ever book with them
I booked a hotel reservation with BookIt.com and agreed to pay a certain amount. Then I get the hotel confirmation and it is a completely different amount!!! I was charged almost double!! This is misleading and fraud. Don't bother booking with them- it'll be more later.
Then when I called them about it, the customer rep said there computer system apparently allows this change and the customers are screwed paying what the new, HIGHER amount it. They don't care and didn't bother to help me.
I travel a lot and this is by far the worst!!!

Bad Service/Overcharges
We used bookit.com for a condo vacation rental in Florida. When we went to pay our bill - it was too much. Book it tried to blame it on Resort Quest who, of course, blamed it on Book it. The Bookit terms had in writing the total fees and charges yet we had to pay more to be able to check in. Considering we were hours from home with 4 children ready to vacation, we had no choice but to pay the higher rate and try to call them to get the overpayment refunded. We sat on hold for 30+ minutes to get a run around. It is still not resolved and this is certainly not how we wanted to start off our vacation.
I wont use Book it or Resort Quest ever again!

misleading website
I had been searching for a great flight to New Orleans when I found Bookit.com. I found a flight at a good price and typed in all of my info including my credit card information and hit enter. The page went blank then a notice in red appeared saying that Airlines change flight prices and times frequently and that I should start my search again. So, I went back to the main page, re-typed my search criteria and the flight I had wanted was no longer available. So, I went to Orbitz.com and found the exact flight I wanted and reserved it. Then I checked my e-mail and found that Bookit.com had confirmed my flight.
I called and let them know about the glitch and to cancel my flight. First they told me that all flights were non-refundable and non-transferable and then they said it would cost me $100 per ticket. The tickets were only $200 a piece so that is a 50% cancellation fee for a website that wasn't working right in the first place.
Do not use them. Their customer service rep was rude and sarcastic. Their website did not let me know in any way that I had succeeded in my transaction. The website was misleading and customer service was a joke.

Money scam
We booked the Days inn hotel in Destin Florida for 3 nights non-smoking through Bookit.com and drove 6 hours to get there. We were trying to stick to a budget and not spend too much money but we were gonna have a great time.My wife had been to Destin last year and she thought she had stayed at the Days inn but wasnt sure, but once we got there it was apparent that she had not, she had stayed at the Hampton Inn which is a much nicer hotel. That was a mistake on our part not doing our research but we were gonna stay anyway. Then we go inside and the rooms we had booked were not available and all they had was smoking rooms, unless we wanted to pay $30 more a night, which we didnt because its a crappy hotel in the first place. Then they proceed to offer us a smoking room but it has a Jacuzzi for $15 more a night, so we went look at it and it is an actual Jacuzzi in a room and I dont know about you but theres no way in hell im getting in that in a private room in a Days Inn theres no telling whats floating around in that you know.Plus the room stunk like smoke so we denied it and they told us if we wanted our money back we would have to call bookit, and we did and even though we did not get what we actually paid for and promised and we were not satisfied with the service, they still stole $120 from me by not giving my money back when I cancelled. My wife was crying cause she felt so bad about booking this hotel and that they took us for 120 bucks. It was terrible service by Days inn and Bookit and I will not ever use either one of them again.
If you are going to Destin and looking for a hotel call resort quest they were very very nice, the lady I talked to booked everything for me and even called the Hotel to tell them im coming, and called back while I was there to see if I made it there ok cause I told her I didnt know the area well. And best of all we got an Ocean front resort on the 14 floor with a beautiful view for about the same price as we would have paid for that Jacuzzi room.

Scam and cheating
I booked with this "so called" travel agency and have found that VERY FEW employees actually care about the clientel that keeps them employed. I have been a traveler for about 15 years, and in that time, I have tried to keep up with the times of on line travel agents. Just to find that they just don't care only to get the "bonus" that entails the sale. As far as "bookit" is concerned, it is a waste of time as well as a waste of energy. My advice, GO TO THE AIRLINE"S WEBSITE!!! That is EXACTLY what they do! Airline's charge, get over it $75 - $500 to change the ticket. YAY for the fuel increase!!! My advice, watch the Airline charge if you're entitled t oa refund MAKE SURE IT'S CREDITED TO YOUR ACCOUNT!!! I was able to find a better air fare and have yet to see the fare difference on my credit card! It makes me wonder, where does that extra "refund"go? Can you say... Better Business Bureau?

credit card overcharge
On March 10, 2008 I booked a Vacation Package including two round trip flight tickets and one room for 4 nights at the Castle Hokele Suites Waikiki through Bookit.com. The reservation was for myself and my friend Anna Baran from Los Angeles, California to Honolulu, Hawaii. We arrived at the hotel at 2.30 am on April 3rd 2008, where we were informed about two rooms being reserved under my name. I explained to the receptionist that I had booked one room only and I had showed her my Vacation Package Voucher for one room reservation. She told us that according to her records we had two rooms under my name that were included in the transaction. We stayed until April 6th 2008 in two rooms and departed on time.
On April 28th I noticed two overcharge transactions for a total of $597.92 posted on April 8th 2008 and a late fee from my bank for the amount of $39. The late fee was associated with the overcharge because I was not aware of this additional transaction.
On April 29th I called bookit.com to resolve the origin of the unauthorized charges. The representative was helpless and transferred me to the supervisor who mentioned that bookit.com would call me back within 2-3 business days. After 3 days Melody Bowling from Bookit called me and explained that the hotel receptionist had committed a mistake and that is why we were given an extra room. She stated that the hotel would cover 50% of the charges in next few days and that bookit.com would not cover the rest of the charges. I have not seen any reimbursement transaction for the next 10 days and I made several attempts to resolve this issue through phone conversations with the hotel and bookit.com. Ultimately, I spoke to the hotel manager Norman and inquired about the reimbursement. I was also curious how had they got my credit card number since I did not give them one and did not authorize the transaction. Norman explained that the hotel got my credit card number from Bookit.com and that Castle Hokele Suites Waikiki would not reimburse me.
I have been left with two unauthorized credit card transactions which I have not been aware of . These resulted in an overcharge of $ 597.92 on my credit card account which negatively impacted my so far excellent credit score. Neither bookit.com nor Castle Hokele Suites Waikiki could help me in resolving this issue.
I am seeking an explanation of the unauthorized credit card transactions and a complete reimbursement of $597.92 charges.

Misleading advertisements!
Ad reads
The Hilton $99-169 Night!
Reg 239 NOW FROM $99/nt!
Stay May 24th and 25th stay FREE May 26th.
Valid Now-6/30
Not available 5/19-5/21; 5/23-6/10; 6/12-6/14; 6/17-6/18; 6/20-6/21; 6/25-6/28.
Thought to myself "that is a silly typo, because who would say "special only on Friday" then say not available on Fridays.
So I tried to booked, but it kept giving me a daily rate of 192.00. So I called. I got a lady, who spoke to a supervisor, and said that they could approve it. If I went to the site right now it would say $99 per night, she said that the management changed it so it would take the special. I couldn't get it booked on the internet so I called back within about 20 minutes, the sales person was not helpful, and basically acted as if I were an idiot. I did get a manager (Melissa, the Director of the Call Center) she told me that they had a certain amount of rooms that sold at that price and that they couldn't sell anymore at that price. My comment to her was are you suddenly out when I bring the false advertisement to your attention. She said if I did book she would knock off $50, but that was all she was approved to do.
Also there was another ad that said book 7 days and receive a free $100 American Express card that can be used anywhere American Express is taken. But guess what. When I tried to book the hotel for 7 nights, and the dates were available I got this message "This hotel does not allow stays of more than 6 nights for the dates you have chosen."
I really would like to save a little money now that gas is so high, but dealing with this company I think I'd rather scrape my eyes out with a spoon than try to deal with them. How do I know I will have the reservation when I get to my destination, reading the other reviews.

Do not use bookit.com!
My boyfriend and I had the worst experience using Bookit.com for our vacation reservation. I highly DO NOT recommend any one to use their resources or to book through them unless you want big time hassles. First, I booked online late one night, and the Bookit.com site froze up while processing our payment for our hotel. It was late at night, so we decided to call them as soon as they opened in the morning to see if our reservations went through or to arrange our trip over the phone.
I recieved a trip confirmation in an email right away, so I thought maybe the reservations went through. I still wanted to call Bookit to make sure everything was confirmed.
My boyfriend called the next morning, and the Bookit.com agents were rude and unhelpful. They were charging his credit card 4 TIMES because thats what they had listed! We kindly explained to them that we had a server problem with their site freezing, and we obviously did not want 4 trips at the same hotel for the same number of people for the same dates! The Bookit representatives were unhelpful, and wouldn't take the charges off our credit card! On top of that, they wanted to charge us $100 for each trip we wanted to cancel, so now this is over $500.00 just for fees and taxes! We explained to them several times that the trip was just for 3 people, and we did not want that many trips, and that the server froze when we clicked to pay. This even after we called asap in the morning. The Bookit.com customer service were very unhelpful, and after 2 hours and speaking to several "managers", they finally agreed to only charge us for one $100 cancellation, even though it wasn't our fault the button freezed. (All the other sites, and my internet was working fine for other sites) We even had to call again before our trip because the charges didn't get taken off right away.
Then as if that weren't ENOUGH hassle, we got haunted by the nasty Bookit.com people again during our trip! We wanted to stay one extra day, and talked to the Condo company we were staying with. They told us the rates, but said if we wanted the little bit cheaper rate, we just needed to call Bookit.com and arrange it with them. My boyfriend called, and they couldn't even find our reservation on their computers, and they said that there WEREN'T any rooms available at that hotel for the one more day!!! Isn't this a booking hotel site?!?!? My boyfriend went back to our Condo desk, and they didn't know what was wrong with Bookit.com. They happily gave us the one extra night for only $15.00 a night extra! A price we were glad to pay after all the Bookit.com hassle. In the future, I would NEVER EVER book with Bookit.com, and I'd either pay more just to not deal with Bookit.com, or use a different hotel site like hotels.com. I will never use BOOKIT.COM or recommend it to anyone. I've seen other horror stories on here, and I am not surprised. DO NOT BOOK YOU TRIP WITH BOOKIT.COM unless you want tons of hassles Before AND After your trip!!!

Unfair practices!
This is the worst experience I've ever had with customer service, period! The rate was great so I booked because the terms seems so accommodating, especially with the cancellation policies clearly posted everywhere throughout the booking process. Within 2 days I got these vouchers on my email, so I thought vouchers? What is this 1999? Again, I left it alone in spite of little things that had already made me uncomfortable like the travel insurance I had been charged for which I remember declining. Anyway, all was fine until I called tonight to change the room type and was told I had to pay 19 dollars as they had to cancel and re-book my reservation, again another abusive practice because, when was the last time you called a hotel directly and were charged for something as minute as this? Now mind you there was no rate change, the two rooms cost the same, the reservation total was the same, it was just a fee for the hell of it if you ask me.
So once again I decided to leave it alone. I did tell the agent that my confirmation email indicated that there were NO cancellation fees associated with this reservation as of today's date, meaning there are charges if canceled at a later time, but he explained that while true, those fees were associated with administrative costs rather than hotel fees, he also referred me to the fine print where this language, after a closer look, is indeed vaguely mentioned.
So I thought, " Ok, so I gotta pay", I went ahead and gave my credit card number only to realize later that they charged the card associated with my original reservation, and not the new card, not 19 dollars but 134 dollars to originate this reservation all over again! NOT GOOD, especially because I wasn't told, it wasn't the credit card number I authorized new charges on and NO ONE HAD EXPLAINED THAT THE ORIGINAL FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE ORIGINAL RESERVATION WOULD NOT AUTOMATICALLY TRANSFER OVER. Add to that really bad customer service, un-refundable airport transfer fees and you got yourself an experience with a company that shouldn't really be in business. Who knows, I might be refunded tomorrow as promised, which I'm not counting on, but regardless I'm loosing money, I have also lost time on the phone and will loose more time finding another hotel. Bookit.com is a huge scam!
