Canceling a hotel booking!
Bookit.com made a confirmed reservation at a hotel in St. Maarten and then 5 days later called with a "urgent " message that the hotel was overbooked. Then lots of chatter about how they would help resolve this with their managers, Wendy and Todd calling the hotel and then getting back to me. Never heard a word from these managers. Remember talk is cheap and actions require real effort.

Apparently Bookit.com can do the talk part.

Be careful using Bookit.com
We booked a hotel in Breckenridge, Colorado through Bookit.com and had to cancel last minute due to medical reasons. I contacted a Bookit.com customer service representative to see what our options were as far as refunds or changing the dates. She pretty much summed up the whole interaction with, "Sorry, there is nothing we can do for you since this is the busy season for the hotel you booked with in Colorado." I explained to her that we would be willing to push the reservation date back to summer 2008 because I am active duty miltiary and I was going to be deploying in 3 weeks but there was still nothing the Bookit.com customer service representative would do. Wow. We are out $700.00 and worse, this is a pretty sad standard for a "customer service orientated company" as Bookit.com claims to be. LAST TIME WE USE THIS SERVICE!

What service did they provide?
I reserved a room with BookIt.com for a hotel in San Francisco about two months ahead of the stay and received a confirmation number from BookIt.com but when I arrived at the hotel they said I had no reservation even after giving them the confirmation number. I reserved a Queen Deluxe and all the hotel had available was a double bed. After trying to call Book It.com I was hung up on a few different times because the operator at BookIt.com could not figure out how to transfer me to Customer Service to resolve the issue. Even after transferring me the representative called the hotel and confirmed there was no reservation. There was a $75 charge that BookIt.com charged me for it's services when I made the reservation. What service did they provide? When a representative from BookIt.com emailed me they said all the hotel would reimburse was $20 and BookIt.com would take 10% off my next purchase from them. Big Deal! Never Again will I reserve any hotels with this site.

Don't use this company for any reason

We choose book it to buy our tickets, hotel reservation to Orlando Florida, 2 months ago, by the time we get there, we found we had no reservations made, we call costumer service on book it, nobody answer, call the hotel we were suppose to be in, they had no information at all about us, until 4 am we finally decide to stay at another hotel having to pay for it, later on we contact book it and they confirm the hotel we were supposed to be, we get there and the receptionist told us we missed our reservations, they had schedule for last month, finally after 30 minutes waiting for an answer from the manager we got a room. we put a complaint at book it we wait forever after 2 weeks they said the hotel offered 2 free nights at that hotel, i think is ridiculous to have to buy a new ticket to fly to Orlando and use those free nights...

Book it said there is nothing they can do about it... Please don't use this company for any reason... They don care about u... and at the end u are paying more than any other company...

You get what you pay for!
Much like the other complaint about not receiving a refund as promised, I too made a change to my trip within the guidelines of the travel agreement and was promised a refund (hotel change). As of today, July 3, 2007, it has been three weeks, twelve phone calls, two faxes, and one email with no refund as of yet. Their customer service line is EXTREMELY slow when you call and often times you are forced to deal with extremely rude agents who offer no follow up to your concern.

Feel free to contact me via email for more details. Sometimes deals are to good to be true. I guess you get what you pay for. I WILL NEVER USE BOOKIT.COM AGAIN!

Don't use BookIt.com
I booked travel on bookit.com for my boyfriend's birthday. I found they had very good deals on their site so I chose them over all the rest, no to mention they had an option for payment in part up front and the rest before the date of the trip. I booked the trip in February, 2007 to Mexico. A few weeks before we were scheduled to leave my boyfriend found out his passport would not be processed in time to leave for the trip. I immediately called customer service to inform them and to find out what the fees were to cancel. I was told they could cancel the hotel and I would be charged $100 per person. Also, I was responsible for calling the airlines to find out their policies. The customer service rep said she would put a rush on my refund because I could not switch that money over to a new trip but rather had to pay for the new destination separate. We ended up going to San Diego on the same dates. We were able to switch the airfare money to another destination but we booked a hotel elsewhere. After returning from my trip I checked my account and the refund had not been processed as promises. I called to inquire and learned the processing on my refund had not even been submitted to accounting. I requested a check be sent to me as I thought it would ensure I get my money since the electronic refund was never submitted. I waited two weeks and still no check. I called customer service back and was informed they sent the check to my address but with my boyfriend's name on it. Did I mention that I booked the trip and the billing information displayed my information? Well, the check was returned undeliverable because we do not live together so his name is not listed on my mailbox. I was told a new check would be sent out to my address and my name. Today is May 15, 2007 , it has been two weeks from the date the last check was alleged sent out to my name and over a month after my trip and I have yet to receive my refund. If you plan to use this site make sure that you are absolutely certain that you will not be making adjustments to your booking or require a refund. The customer services agents are rude and they are of no help. They refuse to admit their mistakes and they don't care how long you have been inconvenienced. DO NOT USE BOOKIT.COM FOR ANY REASON!!!

Stay away from BookIt.com!
After finding a travel agency to book travel for 21 members of my family, I learned about BookIt.Com. In the end, I booked my immediate family of 7 through BookIt.com because they were able to get a better rate. The other 14 members stayed with the other travel agent. I wish I had too.

The short story is that once you book your travel and they get your money, they are useless to you. They don't send you any travel documents (you have to navigate their website and print everything on your own), and I found out the hard way that they don't request seat assignments for your air travel. (The other agency, and most others do). As a result I had to pay an extra $90 to get seats paired up, otherwise all 7 seats were middle seats spread out all over the plane!!! 4 of my travelers were children - 3 under the age of 8. For my return flight the airline could not accommodate me so I had to beg people to take 2 of my middle seats so I could have my 3 and 5 year old sit with me.

As if that wasn't enough, I spent alot of time working with the bookit.com agent on finding the shortest flight duration since I have 4 young children and it was their first time flying. I had an option for a non-stop flight from my local airport, but the agent found me a significantly lower cost flight out of another nearby airport that he assured me was non-stop. In fact the itinerary I printed from their website said it was non-stop with a total travel duration of under 3 hours. I found out the day before travel that it had 1 stop, and the total duration was over 5 hours! So almost twice the duration with my family spread out all over the planes.

Did I mention I booked all this 6 months in advance through bookit.com?? They added no value, and caused us to take extra flights and sit apart. Try another agency :-)
