We went to this restaurant to watch some sport. The Service we received was nothing to write home about, it was scarce and hard to find. The food was also not that great, in my opinion it was overpriced for the quality that we received, and the alcohol was also quite pricey.

When asking for our bill at the end of the evening. The waitress returned with a new amended bill with some items removed as we had a bucket of beers added to our bill in error. It was run up on my card and we had forgotten to hand in one of our colleague’s card for a 15% discount. We requested they reverse the transaction and re-process with the 15% discount. I had not signed the receipt for the card transaction at all at this stage. The waitress said that this could not be reversed; I said it could it takes the same amount of time as processing a normal transaction to which said she could not do it. We then requested to speak to the manager. The manager said it could also not be done, we asked why not and the manager said that it was against their "house policies" to process the discount after the transaction had been processed. We said fine, we have not signed the transaction, so in theory it has not been processed to completion. After much banter they then re-processed the transaction and we paid for this cash, so in essence we paid twice now. We then asked for them to reverse the transaction on my card and he answered that he will only do this in an hour and a half once he has processed everybody else’s transactions. I then caught him in front of the card machine about 20 minutes later with no-one processing on the machine, and I asked him if he could reverse it now as it is not in use. He held up a huge wad of slips and said he is busy and will get to me once he has finished processing his work. We could not stay any longer and had to leave.

I called him the next day to come and get the transaction reversed, and he replied I can come and fetch the amount of money in cash as this is what he wanted to do the night before. I have at least three witnesses I can call on to verify this was not what was discussed the day before.

What kind of a restaurant will make a customer wait 1 and a half hour to reverse a transaction? And be blatantly rude about it?
On top of this, what type of management will call your customers stupid (i.e. not understanding exactly what was said the day before)?

I should also add that the amount that I paid the discount on was for the whole bill including the bucket that was subtracted in the beginning of this saga - So unfortunately we were also robbed here too.

Well done to the management of Boomerang, I hope that your restaurant will Boomerang back at you and fail dismally.
