Unauthorized DUPLICATE charges
Local retail establishments in Waco, Tx, did not carry the particular phone I wanted, the i776w (purple) so I went online to order. My billing address on my credit card is a PO Box, and when I entered it while attempting to purchase, the site came back and advised me they couldn't complete my order, that the address supplied had to be a physical address. I then entered my physical address and I got a bootsmobile prompt that state it didn't match my credit card?!?!?! (For the record, I order online frequently and any reputable site ALWAYS gives the opportunity to enter a BILLING address AND a DELIVERY address-especially when ordering gifts, flowers, etc.) During this process, I went through the process of entering all of my personal information, to include my credit card number. REMEMBER, I'd gotten a prompt on the boostmobile site that stated "YOUR ORDER CANNOT BE COMPLETED".
I was advised by boostmobile.com that I could NOT order online, so I phoned their Sales Dept. Firstly, I got the impression this is (1) not a reputable company, and, (2) has some Mexican origin-as in Mexico.
I explained what had transpired online, and after burning 50 min. of cell phone time attempted to purchase their product on the phone with one of their reps, the individual comes back and advises me "the system won't take it". I asked the rep to please check with a supervisor that there HAS to be a way to make a purchase by phone. The supervisor, after attempting to do what I'd already explained I had done, and the previous boostmobile rep had done, advises me "the system won't take it, we're not set up to take it that way". Well, that doesn't make sense.
I'd just paid my personal monthly bills that morning online, through my bank account, and went into my online banking late that same night to see which ones had cleared. Imagine my horror when I discovered 4 charges from boostmobile for $108.24. As a result, it had a domino affect and all the bills I'd paid online that morning, were bouncing, and the INS OD fees were piling up. My personal checking account was a great big old mess. At once, began the nightmare of calling the Customer Care, Customer Service, etc., every number I could locate online for boostmobile, and they were either not working nos., etc. The supervisor I had spoken to actually gave me a no. that was not even in service. Another no. I located online, I was on hold 15 min., then an automated announcement stated I was call 40+ in que, do the math. I'd been on hold forever...literally, HOURS.
Contacted my bank first thing the next morning and I learned that the bank has to follow MasterCard rules and regulations. Which state in part, THAT company, meaning boostmobile, that submitted the charges, MUST FAX or otherwise CALL the bank to withdraw those charges. I could dispute the charges of course, but that process takes 7-14 days. Meanwhile, every ck, debit card purchase, etc., would be returned and INS OD charges incurred.
I tried for several hours to locate someone within boostmobile, by email, phone, etc., to contact to assist me in withdrawing their unauthorized charges to no avail.
Yep, I did give them my credit card number online when attempting to purchase a phone, BUT THEY REFUSED TO TAKE IT due to the billing and shipping addresses being different AND TOLD ME ONLINE that my purchase could not and would not be completed.
Stay away from this cell phone carrier. They appear to put their manpower into SALES, but once you're "SOLD" - there is NO customer service available. You're STUCK, and then if and when you decide you don't want the service, THEY HAVE YOUR CREDIT CARD INO - how are you going to contact them to stop the service and the deductions?
BUYER BEWARE. Save yourself the misery and heartache, trust me... Whatever agency handles cell phone carriers needs to get down on bootsmobile and their practices in a really bad way, and in a really BIG hurry.
And if by chance you do use this carrier, you best be VERY vigilant, because I promise you, sooner or later, you will have serious issues with them.
