Always check Amazon.com for books before ordering. If the books are not marketed through Amazon.com where you can see the reviews of customers and peers, DON'T BUY ANY OF THOSE BOOKS! They are almost surely published by purveyors of bullshit. Very little can be seen about Bottom Line books at Amazon. No wonder--they don't want anyone seeing to see the comments we are writing here on the Complaints Board, which would occur if Amazon did market these.
Their ads are formula-written to induce desperate buyers. The formula is "miracle cure--read on--read on some more--we'll soon tell you...read on...then the reader is hit to purchase the book as the final scene in 'the mystery.'"
I was curious enough to order "Health Breakthroughs 2008." I thought it stunk. I resolved not to order another ever. Then, Health Breakthroughs 2009 arrived unsolicited. Thereafter came the threatening notices to pay up yadayadayada. I wondered if I had not inadvertently ordered it. I get tons of spam from them, and much of it is not easily identifiable with Bottom Line books. So I paid it and told them not to send any unsolicited books again.
On this site, I now find evidence that my experience is not an isolated case. They are bilking victims by the hundreds by delivering fairly worthless books unsolicited and then getting collection agencies to be a part of this scam by threatening victims to pay up, risk negative credit ratings reports and generally trying to damage victims. Thisis the behavior of a gang of mail order thugs.
Be aware that they market their products on the web through sites not easily identifiable with Bottom Line until you read the fine print.
Avoid Bottom Line. If they bill you for unsolicited books and threaten you, report them to their state's attorney general and the Federal Trade Commission.
