Yesterday (March 7, 2009) my husband and I celebrated my son's 8th Birthday party at Bounce City here in Strongsville Ohio. I will start with the original booking of the party. The party was originally for 15 guests then the day of the party we were told by staff that the Birthday boy is call a 'guest' and one can only have 15 TOTAL in the party and anything over would be an additional $10 per person. In order to make the party go smoothly the day of the event, we were informed to have our guests lon onto the Bounce City website and download/sign the waiver so the event will flow seamlessly the day of the party. Not one guest(parents) was able to download the particular form. Then yesterday(day of event) a employee told us that 'this part of the website is not functioning yet'. So now I am required to sign the waiver for each and every child at this party (if parents droped their children off). I am required to commit forgery on each and every form or the children would not be able to play in the play area. This brings us to the party. One of the Bounce City employees sat on our child's cake---yes SAT. This cake was a Specialy half sheet cake made particularly for my son, that I brought with me. In a sorry attempt to correct matters the staff memeber finally decided to go to the super market to purchase another cake for us. They purchased a quarter cake. So needless to say, we didn't have enough to go around for all the guests at the party. This cake was no where near the one we originally had made, in style, it taste and looks. There were no trashbins in the party room or any type of employee available for assistance. Myself and some parents had to search for all of my son's gifts and party favors that an employee took to another party. Yes, we physically had interrupt another birthday party. The employee placed ALL or the gifts and party favors to a different party. So NO staff member was available to correct the situation so we had to do it ALL. The Jousting area of the play room was shutdown. This area is by the way is the area what all the children enjoy the most. Why was it shutdown, we were told that there was not enough staff available that evening to open the full facility(but I did have to pay full price). I provided all the children quarters to play video games in the video game area and all the lights in that area were turned off. Again, after we were finally able to find a staff member, we were told that there were not enough employees here today to open all the areas. I personally will NEVER book at this location again and advice strong caution against anyone else attempting to celebrate a childs party there. I have already sent a complaint to the Cleveland BBB and I am asking for a full refund of the total price. They can keep the replacement cake.
