I am a CA Realtor and would NOT recommend BPG (Buyers Protection Group) Home Warranty because their service and coverage are the worst among other Home Warranty companies I worked with for my clients. They let you wait 30 minutes on each phone call and they don't work after hours and weekend. Their contractors are far away from your area and wait a next 2 days to come. In the past, I recommended other Home Warranty such as Fidelity, AHS and First American. This is the 1st time I worked with BPG after some seminars with them, I decided to try them first on my own home before recommending it to my clients, then I am very frustrated and disappointed of their services. I got roof leaks recently after Southern California winter rains. I called them and they sent a contractor out from Hemet, CA which was 2 hour drive to my home in Orange County, then the guy showed up and demanded the $60 check for the service call right away without checking my roof and he said that BPG policy to collect the $60 fee up front before starting doing anything. WHAT THE HECK is this about??? How in the world you would pay a service without any job done??? He refused to do anything and left. His boss on the phone told me that his crew already spent $150/hour on my property. But what did they do??? Then I demanded BPG to get another roofing contractor the next day. This 2nd roof guy came and said "my roof's vent pipes are NOT sealed and should be covered by home warranty due to normal wear and tear". But BPG denied the coverage because they said the contractor said "it is improperly sealed". The 2nd roofing guy is more professional and doing inspection and survey, but DIDN'T require me to pay him $60 at first and he was so kind that he even didn't accept my $60 check because he said he didn't do anything even though he already spent 1 hour on survey and talked to BPG on the phone to report the issue of leaking. Please verify with this guy. He told me that BGP should fix the leaks from the VENT pipes and NOT leaks from the
Ridge Caps. He said the guy from BPG has reported on the computer systems that
"NONE OF THE ROOF MOUNTED INSTALLATIONS WERE SEALED PROPERLY" is NOT CORRECT
when I called him. He said this is NORMAL WEAR and TEAR of vent pipes and
it caused the leaks.I will not recommend my clients to go with BPG any more and will cancel the current home warranty. I will go to a SMALL CLAIM court to get BPG to fix the Leaks. NOT done yet, I will report it to my California Association of Realtors, MLS Association, CA Consumer Affairs Board and BBB about VERY BAD Practice of BPG to a consumer and a Realtor like myself.
