For Christmas I wanted to purchase a Vizio LCD 42" television for my mom. I knew which model I wanted and did a search through Pricegrabber.com. I had a hit at BrandNewItems storefront and purchased 2 sets, one for myself since they had Sam's Club price beat by over 100.00 each. After the purchase, come to find out that the hits were for the SV420XVT 120Hz model, not the SV421XVT 240Hz model I had did the search for. The 420 model was over 2 years old, and discontinued by Sam's club.
The seller sent one set. Within a few days, I received a phone call from Sam's club delivery service that they were delivering my set I had ordered. I was confused. I did not order from Sam's club. I found out that the seller "Brand New Items" was bidding on items at http://auctions.samsclub.com/ for hundreds less than the price listed, and pocketing the profit. The sale and delivery was dependent on IF he won the item at the auction. Then he had the item shipped to you. He had no physical inventory, his storefront were items copied and pasted from Sam's club's auction site.
I was slightly pissed and did not want this to happen to anyone else so I left negative feedback informing other potential buyers of the scam.
The man who runs Brand New Items also runs a Brand New Items store on eBay, and Auctiva site and a site called surumart.com. He called my home phone threatening to have my Pricegrabber account suspended if I did not remove the feedback left, which I did not do.
Pricegrabber did suspend my account. Apparently they condone this type of activity. As someone else commented as a pissed consumer stated, Pricegrabber removes negative feedback so a company looks "good" to a potential buyer, Pricegrabber.com / Nextag.com / Shopping.com / Bizrate.com are all companies that are not consumer advocates. They do not allow you to write negative experiences you have encountered with companies. All there primary concern is to make money on advertisement with these bad companies. The customer service rep from Pricegrabber was a person from the Middle East. So is the seller from Brand New Items. It made me wonder if these companies are paying taxes on the income made and the profits going to fund Al-Qaeda terrorist activities. They way these people acted, they sure weren't for making an American consumer happy.
