We purchased a microwave oven from Bray & Scarff's Sterling, VA store. The microwave failed to operate 2 months after the purchase. We called Bray & Scarff repair on 22 May and a technician came to diagnose the problem on 26 May and ordered a new part. A week later we got a call saying the part was in and to schedule a time to have the part installed; the earliest they could come out was the following week. On the morning of the appointment, Bray & Scarff's repair service called to tell us that the right part had been ordered but when they received the box the wrong part was inside and they had to reorder it. A week later we had not heard from Bray & Scarff repair service so I called for a status. At this point it has been two weeks since the part was reordered. The lady I talked to put me on hold for about 15 minutes so she could "check" on the part. She said the part was still on order and won't be in until later that week (about 10 June).
We received another call saying the part is in and to schedule a service date, which was 17 June. The technician did not show during the time frame they specified so this time my wife had to call for a status. The lady she talked to (Regina) said the technician would call with more information. The technician never called us but Regina from Bray & Scarff repair did. She said that the technician thought someone from the repair shop had already notified us that the wrong part had been sent again so he did not call or show up at the house. The part will have to be reordered for a 3rd time and she will let me know when it will arrive. That conversation occurred on June 17th, we still have not received a call. My wife called the store on June 17th where the microwave was purchased and told the manager Jim that we want a brand new microwave because we have been inconvenienced long enough. He was supposed to call Regina at the repair shop and call her back. We are still waiting for that call too. So we have a brand new microwave oven which failed within two months, we've been without a microwave oven for a month due to supposed missteps from the parts supplier, and it is still not fixed. Also, I understand when the wrong part is received the first time but when it happens again, I think there is something else going on. Bray & Scarff is not responsive to our warranty claim and seems to be dragging their feet. Though they may have good prices, their customer service is really lousy and our trust in this company is really going downhill. Today is 27 June and our microwave is still not fixed. We just want our microwave oven fixed per the warranty and Bray & Scarff's agreement when we bought it.
