I purchased a 2001 Kia Optima from Brenner Motors in September 2006. The salesman had told me that I would covered by the Kia warranty for 100,000 miles. I thought that it was fishy that they wouldn't let me look at any other cars because they had sent me something in the mail about financing a Dodge Neon for 99.00 a month. I had tried to leave when the salesman put his hands on me and shouted 'You HAVE to but this car! It is safe and your current car will NOT get you home!!' There was increasing pressure. I asked him what kind of an engine it was he had said it was a 6 cylinder.
I later found out it was a lie, that it is a 4 cylinder. When I later tried to contact him a few weeks later about the warranty, they said the salesman no longer worked there, and the KIA salesmen were traveling salesmen who would go from dealer to dealer. My speed sensors blew in December of 2006. I was driving down the highway and my car would throw itself into 3rd gear and not get out of it. I was almost hit by a tractor tailor.
When I went to get it repaired, KIA informed me that my warranty expired. Just recently, I was getting my tires aligned, when the sub frame was found to be rotted out and the car is unfit to drive. The cost of that repair is 3500.00. KIA will not honor anything. Brenner KIA closed down in December of 2006, so Brenner Inc. will not give me the time of day. This car only has 47,000 miles on it. When I checked the extended warranty, it was through Universal Underwriters, a LIFE INSURANCE company! All I want to do is get out from under this loan, so I can get a decent car! I have owned beater cars with over 100,000 miles on them, and NOTHING compares to this piece of junk.
Wise words to everyone: DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM BRENNER MOTORS especially if you're a woman! NEVER, EVER buy a KIA!!!
