No reply on complaint
I purchased a set of Potenza G-019 Grid (P215/60R16) in October of 2008 for my 2000 Ford Taurus. Between 5000 and 10000 miles we noticed the road noise gradually getting worse. As recommended by the Tires Plus dealer, I had a full wheel alignment done shortly after the purchase. I also followed every recommendation to rotate and balance the tires from the time of purchase to present. At about 25, 000 miles, the road noise became unbearable. I took them in to the Tires Plus dealer to have them checked, fully expecting them to find the tires defective. But to my surprise, and major disappointment, their conclusion was that my car's struts are causing the problem and that the warrantee is void. At no time throughout my purchase did they indicate that my struts were in such a condition that could cause uneven wear on these tires. And, nowhere in the warrantee paperwork provided me does it indicate that struts could void the warrantee. My car is checked regularly, and I can assure you that the condition of my struts is fine. It's clear to me, and frankly anyone that knows me or has witnessed this problem, that these tires are defective. I purchased these tires because Bridgestone was a company that I've seen around since I was a kid, and frankly, hadn't heard anything negative about. I normally don't settle for anything less than a name I can trust. But as we all know, all it takes is one bad experience, and we'll cross a name off the good list without hesitation. The bottom line is that my car is in very good condition, and that no above-average quality tire, such as a Bridgestone, should wear to the point of causing road noise rivaling that of an off-road four wheeler, especially after only one third of its warrantee. I sent this compliant in to Bridgestone weeks ago and haven't heard a peep in return. Seems to me their website is just that -- a website -- with no one staffing or administering complaints.
