I am a retiree, I moved from new jersey July 20, 06 to reside at bridlewood apt homes in conyers ga. With my wife and son. We signed a lease for 1 year. Around sept 06 there were stickers that were placed to several cars that did not have the correct tag applied, my car as well as my sons car had a sticker on it to be towed away. My son went to the management office inquiring about this incident, in a negative way the manager carole frazier responded to my son. My son then responded back at her, he then stepped outside to his car to show her that he had had a temporary sticker that he applies to his car. At this time ms frazier had called for police assistance, and she had locked the doors preventing my son to enter back into the office. As he tried to enter back into the office to show his tag the police officers had then pulled up with their pistols pulled out and threw my son up against the cars. Had management been applied correctly this incident should have never happened. We then received a notice to vacate the premises.
After that incident my family was defamed. We wrote several list for repairs to be done on the premises and they were not done, we received a non renewal may 31, 07, stuck to our door that we had to vacate the premises July 07, also we were still subjected to pay Julys rent. We had officers putting stickers on our cars for no apparent reason to be towed away. We had the maintaince crew blowing trash in front of our door. We were receiving water bills that we automatically pay that on our rent, so why were we receiving these notices stuck to our door? Ever since ms frazier and my son had that incident my family was a target. We paid Junes rent of $815.00, At the end of June we had moved out, being that ms frazier broke our lease, we had to find another location to move into, with us on a fixed income it was very difficult to stay there with all the changes that we were going through, so for our safety we left out before anything drastic would have happened to us. We contacted the better business bureau complaining that we had wanted our security deposit money refunded back to us, better business bureau closed our case, no explanation ms frazier @ bridlewood told my wife in June that she had no intentions on renewing our lease since her and my son had that conflict, and that she did not want him on her property. My wife asked her why did she not say something before now, she just smiled.
So here it is she broke our lease but we are still accountable to pay, in essence ms frazier sent my wife my son and myself name to the collections dept, stating that we now owe them $1.600 For liquidating damages and that we forfeited our security.
