I'm a British citizen as is my partner, my daughter was born in Northern Cyprus, I'm writing with regards to her passport application. My daughters passport application was filed last year in January 2009 with the British High Commission in Northern Cyprus it is now feburary 2010 and the application still has not been resolved I have asked for them to cancel her applications several times in the last 6 months but all get is backtracking and misinformation, they say there is a discrepancies with the application notably that my surname on my passport is different on her birth certificate.
I have tried unsuccessfully to change the information but I couldn't and the say until that issue is resolved the can't process the application which is I have asked them to cancel the application but the seem unwilling to do so I was told on Monday this week that they would attempt to cancel the passport application and that I would be receiving a phone call on Friday about the progess but once again I have heard nothing and have spent the whole day trying to contact office.
I have been patient for over a year she has a Turkish passport which the Bristish High Commission passport department are holding alone with my British passport while they process her over due application.
I writing to inquire if there is any course of action I can take to get them to cancel the application return my passport and my daughters Turkish passport, I considering legal action or contacting the newspaper anything.
Please advise any help would be appreciated
