Bristol Court Apartments Reviews

Tina May 7, 2009
Poor conditions
Bristol Court Apartments I was shown a demo apartment on September 26th, 2005. I was told apartment would be ready on September 30th. I signed the
lease on September 30th 2005 and paid the first months rent. The apartment had a wet stained carpet, broken coils on stove, no heat or hot water. I spoke to Amanda the leasing office representative and she said that the carpet would be changed by October 12, 2005. I decided not to move into the apartment until the carpet was changed. I followed up with the apartment manager (Diane) the following week because the carpet had not been changed. She assured me that it would be done by the next Saturday. I tried to get the gas turned on and the gas company said their wasn't any meter. After they installed the meter there still wasn't any heat or hot water and I notified the apartment manager again that there wasn't any heat or hot water in the apartment and the carpet was moldy. I told her that I can't move my pregnant wife and 1 year old son in because of these conditions; she said she would get things taken care of. By the third week of October no repairs were done, I had a meeting with the apartment manager and I asked her to do a walk through of the apartment because I want to terminate the lease on the grounds that they did not make the repairs when given three weeks. She said she would not accept the termination till I paid for another months rent. I asked for the corporate office contact information and she said that they do not give that out. I gave her my cell phone number and email address so that the corporate office could contact me. The corporate office did not contact me so I sent the apartment key back to the leasing office with a letter explaining why the lease is being terminated. In March of 2005 The Courts Apartments sent $4, 250 to collections for the apartment I did not live in do to poor conditions.
