Report "Disputed Charges" to BANK
After reading the countless stories here of unauthorized charges and monies never refunded, I wish to share this information. CALL YOUR BANKS. Explain to your bank officer what has happened (they are familiar with all types of scams). They will file a "disputed charge" report on your account and issue a letter to the effects of what you've explained to them requesting your signature. You are to immediately return the letter to them. In the meantime, for the sake of fraud protection, the bank (MY bank did this) is to cancel your present credit card and they will reissue a new one within 7-10 days (mine did it within 3 days). They also refunded the money charged which I disputed. From that point, the problem is dealt with between the CREDIT CARD company and BROMALITE because the credit card company will demand IT'S money be refunded!! Protect yourselves!! Call your banks immediately and see if they can help you!!! Also, ignore unsolicited comments from sarcastic writers which may appear under your stories. I wouldn't be suprised if they're Bromalite's people. Either that, or they REALLLLLLLLLLY need to just get a life!!!

False Advertising
Bromalite is advertised as a colon-cleansing tea, offering a 12-day free trial. The only charge for this "free" trial is $4.95 to cover shipping and handling. Seems reasonable enough...UNTIL. At the point of finalizing the order, below ANY order information, is the "fine print" regarding a "subscription" for additional Bromalite for an "automatic charge to your credit card" of $69.00, to be charged two DAYS after receiving the first "TRIAL" order. I immediately used "www.verifyyourorder.com" to cancel my order, and strangely enough, after giving two confirming pieces of information to access my order, when I pressed "Status" to cancel, the page either froze or disconnected. I know...go figure, right? Then, yesterday, 4 days after cancelling the order, a package of Bromalite comes in the mail ANYWAY. I contacted Bromalite, spoke rather firmly with a very "young" sounding Kyla, and was told, "it 'looks like' your order was cancelled and the money was refunded". When I asked her to confirm the cancellation number that appeared on the "verifyyourorder" page when it kept freezing, THAT was not even the number. Kyla gave me a brand NEW number for cancellation, which I have in case of any future "misunderstandings". This site is a SCAM, and based upon other complaints that I've read, it should be shut down!!

returning items and getting no refund
I tried Bromalite for the trial and it made me ill so I did not continue taking it. When the automatic shipment came and I did not return it right away I forgot about it. A second automatic shipment came and this reminded me to return the previous shipment with the second shipment. I called the company to tell them I had returned both shipments. They told me they would refund only the most recent shipment as a courtsey and cancel the account but would not refund the previous shipment of 69.95. I explained the the package was unopened ( dusty, but not tampered with). I was told it did not matter and that they would NOT be reselling that package because they could not trust that it had not tampered with. I was under the impression if you returned something unopened in the original package, you were to get a refund for the original price but not shipping.

rip off tactics
This company hooks you with an offer of free product for only paying the shipping. Then, if you don't realize that you have to "opt out" within 15 days, they charge you $69.95 for the "Free" sample. I called and they told me they would refund the $69.95 if I refused the shipment. I sent it back "return to sender" and they won't refund the money. My credit card says they can't help, so I'm out $70.00 to these jerks. Please put them out of business! They're ripping people off daily. I am also writing to the Better Business Bureau and FDA. These people need to be stopped!

CHARGING ME AFTER I CANCELLED
I ORDERED THE FREE TRIAL OF BROMALITE AND ENDED UP IN THE HOSPITAL DUE TO SOME KIDNEY PROBLEMS. WHEN I CAME HOME IT WAS PAST THE 14 DAY TRIAL TO CALL AND CANCEL. I CALLED ANYWAYS AND FINALLY GOT TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE AND ASKED THEM TO CANCEL MY ORDER AND REFUND ME. WELL, THEY DID REFUND ME THE MONEY AND ON THE SAME DAY THEY CHARGED ME AGAIN OVERDRAFTING MY ACCOUNT NOT ONCE BUT TWICE. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH SOMEONE TO GET MY 70 DOLLARS BACK THAT THEY OWE ME FOR THEIR MISTAKE. IF ANYONE KNOWS OF A PHONE NUMBER PLEASE EMAIL IT TO ME A [email protected] IF I DO NOT GET GOOD RESULTS FROM THIS I WILL BE SPEAKING WITH ONE OF MY ATTORNEY'S I NEVER GAVE THEM MY PERMISSION TO TAKE ANY MONIES OUT OF MY ACCOUNT AFTER I CANCELLED. THAT IS CREDIT CARD FRAUD AND SOME ONE WILL PAY FOR THIS WRONG DOING.

Misleading advertising borering on "scam"
On 3/9/09 I thought I was purchasing 30-day Digestive Supplement for $4.50. I received the bottle a couple of days later. I never opened the first bottle, and on 3/28/09 I received another bottle which I didn't order, and took it to the post office to be returned unopened. On 3/31/09 I received my Visa bill to learn that I was charged $69.95 for the original bottle I thought was $4.50. I called the company immediately, and was told about the "terms and conditions" which appeared in the very small, fine print at the bottom of the page. I was given a confirmation #01A46 and another #62327 that verified that I cancelled my subscription. There was another charge for $29.95 on my credit card; when I called that number, I was told it was for a fitness instructor that I had automatically been signed up for when I sent for the supplement. I was given a confirmation #CRA-12113276 stating that this service had been cancelled. This morning, I called my credit card company, only to learn that I had been charged an additional $69.95 on March 24, 2009. I requested that a new credit card number be issued to me immediately. I accept responsibility for not reading the terms and conditions fully, but feel that the company has used unfair business practices in advertising a product for $4.50 and in fine print, extracting over $100 for their product that, upon further investigation, is reported to be questionable to use. I never even opened the first bottle, and would appreciate any help you can give me in recuperating the second charge of $69.95 on my credit card. This type of advertising is deceitful, deceptive, and should be unlawful.

billed after cancelling
WATCH IT AND READ ALL THE FINE DETAILS BECAUSE ONCE YOU SIGN UP FOR YOUR TRIAL SHIPMENT THEY WILL TURN AROUND AND CHARGE YOU ANYWAY EVEN AFTER YOU CANCELLED YOUR ORDER IN A TIMELY MANNER WITH IN THE TRIAL PERIOD. THEN YOU ALSO END UP WITH A CHARGE TO FIT FACTORY FOR ANOTHER $29.95 WHICH 94.79876 % OF THE PEOPLE WON'T BE AWARE OF UNTIL THEY GET THEIR CREDIT CARD BILL. I ALSO DID NOT SEE ANY IMPROVEMENT NOR LOOSE ANY WEIGHT NOR NOTICE ANY BENEFITS FROM THIS SPECIFIC SUPPLEMENT IN CLEANING MY COLON. MAYBE I'M JUST FULL OF POO POO

I filed a complaint with FTC
Bromalite charged me the initial $4.95 and it took almost 2 weeks to receive the product. There was NO paperwork or contact information with the product. By that time they already charged me the first $69.95 without my consent. When I saw the charge 2 weeks later on my statement, I called to get that charge removed and they said they did, but what they didn't tell me is that they had already (that same day) charged me ANOTHER $69.95. When I later saw the second charge, I called again and they refused to remove it because they said they already did when I called the first time. The FIRST charge for $69.95 was never removed and the phone reps can only reverse the most recent charge. I even spoke with a supervisor who was very rude and continued to refuse to remove any more charges.
On their website they claim in big letters "30 day risk free trial", but they do not honor it, instead they refer you to the fine print at the bottom where it says you will be charged $69.95 12 days from the day you "sign up"... well, you don't get the product before then and if you do, there's not enough time to decide whether you like it or not. They just go ahead and charge you $69.95 and then another 2 weeks later, you get another charge for $69.95.
I called the other customer service number as well 1-866-897-0663 and was told that they will "forward my request to another department, but it may take a month before I see any response"... I didn't believe any of this.
I filed a dispute through my credit card company and I also filed a complaint with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission - Consumer Protection section). I was told that this company is being investigated.
Any advice I can give would be:
* Don't stop calling them. Call all their customer service numbers, speak to supervisors.
* File a dispute through your credit card company (I was told the credit card companies already has this company flagged as a fraud)
* File a complaint with the FTC so that the FEDS will get involved. The more people complain, the better.
Here is the link to the FTC complaint form online.
