UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES AGAINST MY CREDIT CARD AFTER I PURCHASED A DISK FOR 3.00
Purchased a CD for about 3.00. Never used it and was not what they said it was. Now they have been charging 39.95 a month on my credit card since October! I have never received and services from them and have no idea what the money is supposed to be for!
Some one owes me some money-I would like to know who these people are! People who can just steal money from people knowing tht they are not doing anything to earn it!

unauthorized debits to my checking account
I previously wrote to tell about unauthorized funds taken from my bank account by BSM Grant Search. I just called the company to cancel my "subscription" (which I did not authorize) and found out some information that I want to share.
1) The cost of shipping $1.97 is for the free CD.
2) In the "Terms & Conditions" it is noted that if I wanted to cancel I had 30 days to do so. ( Since I thought my obligation ended with the purchase of the CD, I was unaware that I had to do anything further.)
3) The charges of $39 a month was supposed to be for access to an internet site for Grant Information. (I didn't even have the web address for such a site.
4) I was sent an email by this company to direct me to the site. They had on record that I never opened the email. (I probably thought it "junk" and deleted it. My guess is that they used an email address that was obscure and unknown to me.
I believe that this company is using shady practices to defraud the public.
Why would they put the most important information - the fact that you are agreeing to a monthly charge - in the terms and conditions and not on the page that caught your interest? Because they are banking on busy people not taking the time to read the fine print.
Why would they send one email of such importance and not make it recognizable? And why don't they monitor who opens their email? Because they're hoping you junk the email and then they can continue to charge you for a service that you don't even know about because you haven't received the email!
But here's the best part. While I ranted about what a lousy company it was to the customer rep, she repeatedly tried to sell me the service, explaining what a valuable thing it was. Finally, I stormed that I wanted no sales pitch but just a confirmation that I was cancelling the service that I didn't want in the first place. PS I was assured it is cancelled and was given a confirmation number. I'll be watching carefully for next month's bank statement!
Companies like this bend the rules just enough to dupe people but not so obviously as to call attention to their practices. I know that this bureau has received similar complaints about BSM Grant Search. Isn't there anything we can do to shut them down or at least clean up their act?

unauthorized charge to my checking account
I believe that I filled out a form to receive a list of government grants available. I never authorized any funds to be taken from my bank account by this company. In December, 2007 I have a debit of $1.97 from BSM Grant Search. I think this was the initial price I was to pay. Then in Jan and Feb, 2008 I see this company has taken $39 each month. I never agreed to this amount and I have never received any information or goods from them either.

Unauthorized charges to my credit card!
The price was supposed to be only 1.99 and i was charged an extra 37 dollars! Beware!

Unauthorized credit card charge!
I bought 1 CD from them and now I am receiving a charge on my credit card for 2 months of $39.95 which I did not authorize. I read on the RIP-OFF how this has become a SCAM perpetrated on many people.

Unauthorized debits!
This company took money from my account without authorization. They get you when you open the email they send you. They think because you open the email you are authorizing them to debit your account. I called to get my money refunded and got it.
You need to call 866-370-7270 and ask for a supervisor. That is how I got my money back.

Unauthorized charges!
I bought a grant cd online for 1.99 and now they have charged my account 27.00 out of now where. This was not part of the agreement. I have no way of contacting them either to stop this.

Unauthorized use of credit card!
An unauthorized use of $7.95 was made on 1/21/08 on my Visa card by BSM Grant Search. I have no idea who this company is and how they obtained my personal Visa card information. I wish to file a formal complaint.

I do not have a phone # to call and cancel. I am afraid that I might be charged monthly. How can I get my money back? Plz advise smb!

Unauthorized charge!
If you have a complaint about BSM GRANT, Please do not call the number following this article. I am not BSM GRANT! I had a complaint just like you and had to find their number. I did get it resolved so don't give up.
