extremely poor customer service and failure to arrive on time
i paid in advance for 2 of their movers to assit with moving me out of an apartment. at the time i paid them, they guaranteed that the movers would be here between 2:00-3:30. they said "3:30 at the very latest." on the day of the move i called them at noon to get a status update since i hadn't heard anything, and asked if they could give me an estimated time of arrival. the person told me in a very terse manner, "i don't know when they'll be there, but we have until 3:30. i'll call you when they (the movers) call me." i asked again if it would be possible for him to get an estimated time since i needed to be finished with the move by 6, and he responded again in a very terse manner, "i'll call you when the movers call me." i said, ok, please let me know. at 3:15 i still hadn't heard anything, so i tried to call them back but they failed to answer the phone after 2 consecutive calls, so i then called the broker company who originally scheduled the job and told them about the situation (they are called Moving Staffers out of Wichitah Falls, TX), and they were immediately able to get Budget on the line ( it was obvious at this point that Budget Moving & Storage was dodging my calls). Budget then told them the same thing, "i'll call the customer when my movers call me." This is 15 minutes prior to their latest committed time to arrive, so i insisted that Moving Staffers get a better estimate from them since it was going to be nearly impossible to get the move completed by 6pm. Moving Staffers responded, "sorry, this is all we can tell you." i then got very upset and demanded that they get a firm ETA from Budget, so was then put on hold, and then told "Budget says that their movers are running late and will try to see if they can be there by 5" but refused to even commit to getting here by 5. at this point my schedule was completely wrecked with no certainty when they might finally arrive, and so i decided to cancel the service and call another local company who committed to doing the move the following day and for $150 less money! If Budget had any sense of customer service, they could have easily called their movers earlier in the day, told me the truth, and then i could have avoided wasting an entire afternoon and made alternate plans. Dealing with this company was an extremely dissappointing and frustrating experience, and i certainly would not recommend them to anyone.
