I bought a new snowboard came with a private lesson and a FREE Lift Ticket for Waterville Velly. Cool, huh? With a 48 hours advance to reserve for the instructor. I'm an intermiate level, thought I could skip the lesson just go for the Free Lift Ticket.
When I got to the mountain, handed my coupon to the ticket service, a woman insisted that since I bought a new snowboard and since they mentioned free lesson, that implied the ticket just for beginer slope. If I want to go the top of the mountain, I need to buy my lift ticket. I showed her the paper and ink" FREE LIFT TICKET", no where said "beginer slope" and asked to talk to her manager, and she said she was the manger. Duh, I run to a dead rat. What a scam!!! Don't ever trust any Burton's sales with FREE of anything. Don't go Waterville Velly in NH anymore. They only care to take your money. That day the condition was icey/ hard. (3/14). I left after 2 hours. Too expensive for 2 hours, not worth it.
3/8/09, (raining) A friend of mine spin the wheel and landed on "FREE Lift Ticket". With 20 some people stood around, watched and cheered, the woman said that since she didn't see, my friend had to spin again. Of course, no luck second time. So my friend bought the ticket.
It is a very windy mountain, sometime when you got there and most lifts were not open due to wind but on their website, they wouldn't tell you. You wasted to drive there, you wasted your day. They might say 1/2 price. You think it was a special day but be aware, it might be that only one small lower lift open due to wind. Yes, my true experience. Waterville Velly is sure to lost a lot customers.
