Will never order from this company again
Ordered an item from Buy.com, was told it should ship in 1-2 business days.There were no indications when ordering that the item may not be in stock. I have been checking the order and after 5 business days it still has not shipped. Emailed the company and their reply had nothing to do with my question I asked. Their website states that they will email me with status of my order...received none. I will never order from this company again!!

Deceptive advertising
I received an e-mail offer from Buy.com for a Garmin NuVi 255W GPS unit for $115 with free shipping. I was sitting at my computer when the offer came in, so I IMMEDIATELY followed the link only to find they were "out of stock." Three days later, I receive an e-mail saying they unit are in stock BUT NOW COST $129.99. I called and discussed this with two different representatives, (probably in India). All they could do was tell me I could buy the unit for $129.99 each. I think they never intended to sell these units for $115. In my opinion, this is deliberate dishonest marketing. BEWARE !

WrongSelling practise
I gor a ASUS laptop from buy.com in July 2009 and i had a probelm with the laptop i contacted the manufacturer within the 3 months of the purchase and i was told the warranty had expired where as the laptop had 12 months warranty. On enquiry the manufacturer told me that the laptop was a year old and was registered in 2008. they told me may be it was a refurbished unit sold by Buy.com . I am now trying to talk to Buy.com reps on phone to get a refund as they had sold a refurbished laptop as new and charged me price for new.

no customer service
BUY.COM HAS NO WAY TO CALL THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DIRECTLY TO SETTLE PROBLEMS.
I tried to buy something at buy.com. I used my paypal account but they would not ship to my summer home because I did not have a credit card with that adress on it. So I ordered with my credit card. When I did not get my shipment, I went back to buy.com and discovered that it had not shipped, they needed confirmation. In order to discuss this with customer service, I had to click a link to my home phone number, but I wasn't there. I sent 4 emails asking for a customer service number I could contact to explain the problem, but I kept getting the same from letter to click the link (It took 2 days per letter for them to respond). I appriciate they are trying to protect me BUT, THEY HAVE NO WAY TO CALL THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DIRECTLY TO SETTLE PROBLEMS. I finally gave up and cancled my order, and bought my product elsewhere. Then I had to contact buy.com's shipper directly to canncel the order (which they never recieved). Fortunately, they had a customer service department that responded immediately.

Terrible Customer Service
Order was placed on May 20th for a clock radio. Item was double shipped and double invoiced. First item had several defects and was returned the next day. I have yet to get an actual reply or a refund.
I have sent a total of eight emails to the customer service department, and only get automated replys that give a case number. The last reply even included a statement "in an endeavor to resolve your problem, your case has been escalated". This was received on May 1st and I have yet to get another response.

Package return to sender without chance to pickup from local UPS customer service center
STAY AWAY IF YOU CANNOT WAIT AT HOME ALL DAY TO SIGN FOR YOUR PACKAGE.
Buy.com contracts out to other companies to fulfill your order (i.e. you will sometimes not get a package from "BUY.COM" but instead some company you've never heard of). One of these companies, Lehrhoff ABL, ships by UPS and requires a signature upon delivery. Fine, most good companies do that.
However, if you aren't able to meet the UPS driver at home because you work during the weekday like a normal person, UPS will send it back to Lehrhoff without holding it at a customer center for you to pick up! This isn't UPS's fault. Lehrhoff doesn't allow UPS to hold the package to give the customer a chance to pick it up! So if you can't take the day off to wait for a package, you're out of luck and then have to deal with Buy.com customer service to get a refund. Good luck with that one.
This is the most idiotic thing I have ever heard of in the history of online retail. I am NEVER ordering from Buy.com again because of this inconvenience. The real culprit is Lehrhoff ABL and if I ever learn they fulfill orders for other online retailers, I'll be sure to stay away from them too.

Communication
I ordered an extended battery and cover for my Motorola V9x cell phone. I mistakenly ordered for a V9m so it did not fit. I sent 3 emails over 3 days looking for a return processes. I Have yet to get any response from buy.com (not counting the auto response that serves no purpose) I ahve given up and will not buy from this company again, writing off the $40.

Refund and Incorrect Item Shipped
So not happy with Buy.com. Actually when I placed my order through Amazon.com (which I really like using and will continue to use), I found a vacuum I wanted offered up for sale through A&P Warehouse. When the vacuum arrived it was the wrong model and in no way matched my Amazon.com order. I followed the return instructions and got the RMA number and printed out the UPS return label. No problem so far. I sent an email to Buy.com referencing the Amazon.com order and exact description of what was ordered and confirmed I would like what I ordered shipped. About two weeks later, I happend to be home and UPS pulls up. Buy.com sent the same incorrect vacuum model they shipped the first time. I refused delivery and back the second vacuum went. I notified Buy.com of the error and asked for a refund. I they told me I was only billed for an amount that was $15 less then the amount billed to my account by Amazon.com. I emailed them back and told them how much was I charged for the Amazon order and restated the amount I was to be credited. Of course, I got a patronizing email stating that I was wrong and only entitled to a credit of $91.66 instead of $105.70. I filed a claim with Amazon.com. I hope they can resolve this. I did also let Amazon.com know about the email I got from Buy.com telling me how much they were crediting my account. This is weird because they shouldn't be crediting my account for anything since the order was done through Amazon.com. I am not sure how Buy.com would have any of my credit card info to do any crediting with. Of course A&P Warehouse has said this is not their problem.

Awful experience
Buy.com collected funds from my PayPal account, then freaked out that I was shipping it to my bank (the one that funds PayPal) and canceled the shipment, stating that I was an unverified PayPal account, which is NOT true, shipping to an unconfirmed address (the address was my bank).
So then I ordered the same stuff again using my Visa debit card. They charged my card, had the items picked up by Fedex and then Buy.com went and picked up the shipped items from the Fedex warehouse.
No one contacted me about this despite my repeated attempts to contact them. They have my money and will not refund it despite me requesting them to do so.
Buy.com has terrible customer service, no direct email contact and no phone number. Their customer support team could care less about one's problems and refuse to work with their customers to resolve problems.
Do not buy from Buy.com if you want reliable shipping and customer service.
