Rip off company
Ok I REALLY need to VENT!! First let me say how much i enjoy shopping on-line. It's combines the fun of window shopping with the gift opening of christmas or a birthday, it's just great!! With that said it is still scary to pay for an item then hope the other end does their part. You worry about mail mishaps etc. but to have to deal with people who JUST STEAL YOUR MONEY is just too much for me!!

First a little back story...My son was born Dec 20th 2006 so we have a lot going on that week :) We recently moved to a small town who's biggest store is Wal-Mart, so to get the gifts I really wanted this year it came down to driving an hour and half, battling other crazy shoppers, hoping those gifts are still on the shelves, all with an almost 2yr old along for the ride, sounds like a WORLD of fun!! Or stay at home, wrapped up in my SUPER COMFY electric blanky and shop from my computer, as my toddler calmly watches cartoons and eats cereal. The choice was easy, but to make sure everything arrived on time (even giving extra time for mishaps!!) I started to order birthday and christmas gifts on the 1st of DEC, plenty of time right, wrong!!

This year was the first year that i bought MOST of our gifts online, but i have bought many other items in the past. I purchased from 3 web sites, including Koles, e-Bay, and Buy.com. Kloes was the best, everything arrived on time in good condition. There were some mishaps w/ e-bay but it was the stupid USPS's fault and My son's bedding took 17days to arrive!! but got here the day before his b-day (it was a big boy birthday gift) The shipper was super nice and truly upset with the post office, as i was :) but this brings us to Buy.com...errrrr...

They were the first order i made on the 1st of Dec so i never thought i would have a problem with this order but i have yet to receive my items or a refund!! On Dec 1st i ordered a Max and Ruby Board Book from Buy.com who was selling it through BigRockMedia (another online company you SHOULD NOT BUY FROM!!) The next day I ordered another book through Buy.com but from another sub seller. When i ordered the second book it said IN STOCK but when i started wondering where it was (about 2 weeks later) the website now said BACK ORDERED!! WHAT!! NO NO NO!! I would have NEVER ordered a gift that was on back order, you never know when it will arrive!! but the real kicker was the other book, from BigRockMedia. It said it was mailed on the 9th, ok great, where was it then??

I e-mailed both Buy.com and BigRockMedia and received canned response emails from both, but that is where their help ENDS!! I e-mailed BigRockMedia SEVERAL times inquiring about my order without one real response!! THEY NEVER EVER GOT BACK TO ME!! I had to e-mail buy.com several times before receiving there phone number (they even made specifically ask for it!) So once i had a real person to talk to they said 'oh sure fine, we will cancel your order for the back-ordered book and you will see the credit on your statement in the next week, but you will have to call BigRockMedia to deal with that order' ok fine, just one more call right, WRONG!!

The number that Buy.com supplied me with was an answering machine from BigRockMedia that said 'because we want to keep cost down we don't offer live customer service and you can leave a message if you want, but this machine is not regularly checked so they don't know when, or if ever, you will be called back' WONDERFUL!!

So i call Buy.com back and told them about the really great message i just listened to, and wondered what they were going to do for me since i paid THEM, not BigRockMedia?? So they said they will have to send this case to their specialists (what ever the hell that means!!) This was back on the 3rd on Jan (and over a MONTH since my order!!)

I have been having hubby check the statement and no money yet from Buy.com so today I call AGAIN. Buy.com tells me that there was some computer error with the back ordered order refund, and now that case is going to have to go to a specialist too, and the other case is still at the specialist, WHAT!! What the hell does that mean, 'at the specialist!!' and why if there was an error on the refund, why was i not notified!! Are they just going to keep my money and hope i don't keep calling??? OMG OMG OMG!!! So needless to say i'm pretty upset at this point.

The lady on the phone is no help, they have been jerking me along for over a month and to top it off my kid NEVER got his gifts!! So i start to cry a little, not a lot, not sobbing where you can understand me, but i was upset. And can you believe the little b**ch on the other end actually says 'are you crying??' and not nice like oh are you ok, but mean, like are you ACTUALLY crying over this?... How Mean!! So i said YES I'M CRYING!! and explained everything i had to go though, and how I really felt like i was being scammed first from BigRockMedia and now Buy.com!! I asked why i didn't receive my first refund and there was no answer to be had!! She just told be i needed to wait a few days for an email from them, saying what, she couldn't tell me cuz that wasn't her department, and she couldn't transfer me either, she was customer service and that is the only branch that will talk to customers...so i ask the lady about BigRockMedia and that refund, she says her computer shows they put in a request for a cancellation of that ordered and have not received an answer yet...What!! It's been weeks!!

So not only will BigRockMedia ignore me but they are ignoring Buy.com too and Buy.com doesn't care to call me? What, just another hope i will forget and stop calling?? THAT'S STEALING!!

So this is where i stand today, no books, no money and no answers. All i have left is my VOICE and i will not be silenced!! I want EVERY PERSON to understand the shoty business practices of both BIGROCKMEDIA and BUY.COM!!!

BEWARE BUYERS!!

If you were able to make it through this winded rant then Congrats!! and if you feel PEOPLE should be aware of these scammers then PLEASE RE-POST!! We have to keep these businesses in check or they will just keep on stealing from you and me!! With all that said let me add, I still love to shop on-line!! I will just NEVER SHOP BUY.COM OR BIGROCKMEDIA Ever Ever Ever Again!! I guess we will have to go through the credit card company and just bypass Buy.com. Thanks and have a grateful day!!

Bad service
Worst customer service.Extremely rude staff.budget shipping takes 20 days to reach(their commitment is 7-9 buisness days).the don't care at all.

Unauthorized charges
I bought a TV from Buy.com on 2/12/2007 with rebate of $150. I sent in all the required paperwork, the copy of the receipt, UPC and rebate form on time. Later it turns out that the rebate company that buy.com uses to return the rebates has filed bankruptcy. It's been almost 2 years now and Buy.com has not refunded me my money yet. I paid it to them. I want it back.

Horrible Return Policy
Just before Xmas, I ordered RockBand2 for the Wii for my son. It was the ONLY thing he wanted & all we could afford. Both my husband and I checked to be sure it was for the Wii before I hit the Checkout button. It arrived the day before Xmas Eve, but was for Xbox 360, not the Wii. We don't have an Xbox. I looked for a phone number on the website, but couldn't find one. So I sent an email. The site said I would receive a response within 24 hours. Well, no response. Luckily, we found the right system at a nearby store & purchased it.
After Xmas, we found a number (1-800-800-0800) & called. I was given an RMA#, but the site said the item could not be shipped in its manufacturer's box, even though that was how we had received it. It also said it could not have writing or labels on the box, which it did from the original shipment. This was also a HUGE box and I didn't have the money to return what I knew was the company's mistake. I emailed them again with a lengthy explanation of the problem and a request for a call tag.
That day, I received a response stating they could not issue a call tag for non-defective items and that I needed to take it to UPS to ship back! BUT I STILL HAD A 'DAMAGED' MANUFACTURER'S BOX WHICH THEY WOULD REFUSE!! I wrote another letter, which included this paragraph,
"I have read your return policy and it is clearly evident that your intent is to cheat and deceive your customers. I received the incorrect order in its manufacturer's box, which was already written on by either your company or the company you hired to ship it to me. According to your return policy, "Items received with any writing on the original manufacturer's packaging or box will be refused and returned to you at your cost and without credit approval." How convenient. So you send your customers the wrong item, in its original manufacturer's box, not only with writing on it (which gives you reason to refuse the item upon its return) but the shipping label as well (which then violates the "like new condition" of the manufacturers' packaging you require), which then further gives you reason to charge a restocking fee. It seems to me that you are making out like bandits here.
I requested that I be called by someone who speaks English. That call came two days later, at which time I was told basically, "Too bad". I did get them to agree to accept it in its original box.
We shipped it back at a cost of nearly $20. It has been 12 business days with no credit as yet, even though the website says 5-7 business days. When I called, I was told another 3-5 business days. Needless to say, I will NEVER buy from Buy.com again, nor will anyone I know if there's anything I can do to stop them. I hope you will pass this info on as well.

Bad service
I had 4 packages stolen off of my porch on Wednesday the 17th of Dec, one of which was from buy.com. After contacting Fedex and the local authorities, I began contacting the vendors. However, Buy.com does NOT have a contact phone number any where on their site. They do indeed have a support number, but you have to google to high and hell to find it. And when you call it, you'll know why they don't post the number. I was on hold for 2 hours before I gave up. The next day I tried again and after a mere 1.5 hours this time, I got a hold of someone who clearly barely spoke English and told me they couldn't help me and to go back to the website to submit a claim. So I did. The day after Christmas I got an automated response saying they would look into my claim, and then late the same night another email saying they would refund the purchase. It took about a week to post to my credit card. And while I am happy that I didn't lose out on any money or have to dispute anything with Visa, however the email-only customer service, them not offering to reship or provide a comparable product, and being brushed off by their phone support have taught me a lesson. Buy.com is not for me.

Stay Away!!
I will never buy from Buy.com again. I ordered a 22 inch monitor for my wife for Christmas. She opened the gift on 12/25, but she did not actually set the monitor up and plug it in until 12/27. When she did so the monitor had some dead pixels which cannot be fixed.
As I ordered it on December 12, 2008, and they will not accept it for return since it is past their "14 day RMA" period.
You cannot reach them by phone, they sent me an e-mail basically saying "sorry Charlie", and seem to care less about service after the sale

Misleading Advertising
I am very disappointed with the service I received at buy.com. I ordered a coffee pot but when I received it, it was not the one I ordered. After several inquiries, I found out that the sku number on the website did not match the picture of the item that was for sale. The item pictured was a much more expensive model than what was sent. I emailed them and let them know that I wanted the coffee pot in the picture and they told me that they could not do that. They could refund me what I paid and I was welcome to place another order. They did not even address the fact that they are falsely advertising. I will never buy from them again.

Bad customer service
I have ordered from buy.com for several years. I recently ordered 3 xbox 360 games, 2 came but it stated 3 were shipped. I emailed them, the automated response says you will have a response in 10 hours but if it has to be researched it could take 48 hours, I have since emailed them 5 times with absolutely no response. They apparently plan to keep my money and my game. I have asked for the game or a refund and have gotten neither and have not gotten a response. They do not have a published address or phone number, just an email address. From reading other complaints it appears that they do not provide customer service only the illusion of one.

Total Incompentence
Oh, I will NEVER EVER EVER order from Buy.com again. But I won't bore you with the 'ordering' part. Here's what happened when I tried to complain to their customer service dept: First of all, even though they gave me an order #, they had no record of that order. Then I write my complaint letter, and they send me an aut0-reply saying if I want to talk to someone directly, request their phone #.
I do, and get back ANOTHER email, asking me for MY # instead. I write an exasperated note saying 'my god, can't you even get your COMPLAINT system in order when people are ALREADY tearing their hair out, and they send me back a 'personal' email requesting 'more information' on my problem. LOOK UP THE OTHER FREAKIN' EMAILS!!! And there is NO way to talk to a person unless they deign to give you their #.

Bad service
I went to the internet site of buy.com and ordered an Xbox 360 with 60 GB harddrive. It was suppose to come with two games; Kung Fu Panda and The original Adventures of Indiana Jones. When the item arrived it did not have the two games. When I contacted Buy.com (who by the way have no phone, no address and only allow you one way communication with them) they said they had no such item on their website.

Needless to say they are not only unresponsive, but initally refused to allow me to return the item.

Anyone buying online should know that buy.com does not stand behind their products. They are only a middleman for other sellers.
