Dear Sirs, I am registering a complaint about a 84.16 charge that was applied to my bank statement for which I had no clue as to why it was there. It stated that 84.16 was withdrawn and sent to BUYLOWAUCTIONS and a phone # was attatched to my statement. (1-888-236-6918). So, I called the # on 5/13 around 6:30 pm. When I inquired to "Sarah" why I was charged this money, Sarah replied because you signed up as a member to buylowauctions. My reply was, no I did not sign up for membership on this buylowauction site. What I did do is try the auction out for the amount of money stated to see if I would be interested in joining. It was only a few dollars and I heard a couple of people at Christmas say that it takes a few bids but eventually you can get an item at very low cost. After I gave my card # to this site for the few dollars it cost I was then directed to a auction page that said for another few dollars as today's deal you can get something like 30 extra bids for a few dollars. I thought well since I am trying this out what's a few more dollars maybe I will win an auction I pick. There were maybe 9 different items to bid on so I just randomly picked a gift card and I believe the amount on the card may have been 100.00. Everytime I thought well I have the highest bid it would get down to 1 second and another 20 + seconds would be added and someone else would get the lead and around a 6 seconds left mark, someone else would make it go up 20 more seconds making it 26 seconds left. This went on for awhile and even though you are tempted to purchase more bids(1 cent each) it would cost me more than I had. So, I ended the bidding and decided to exit out of this site. I tried it but it was not something I would be able to do all the time. My first look on my bank statement showed the two deductions on my card for the few dollars to try the site out. Then today, I went to my statement to see what was deposited from my paycheck and I see this charge for 84.16 and well I called and it takes me back to the beginning of this statement. I connected with Sarah and she said By giving them my bank # I sighned up for this auction place and I argued that I did not. Could you please reverse that charge. When I tried it I was deducted the amount for trying it. I do not want this membership. Sarah told me there was nothing That can be done. I am a member now. I replied there is no way I would have signed up for a membership for that amount of money . I was paying to see if I liked it and those charges were deducted now please, seriously, reverse the charges. Again she denied to. Then she said well I can make an exception and offer youhalf the amount back. So I told Sarah that if there is no way she could reverse the payment in full then why can she now offer me back half of it. Because I am not supposed to but I am being generous so you can take half back or nothing at all. My reply was that I just don't understand this. Could I please talk to your supervisor? Apparently Sarah said he went home for the night. Well how could that be? why would a supervisor go home before the business closed for the day? He should be there to address situations like this and to leave and not support this business? To me something is not right. Sarah then told me his first name when I asked and she said he would not be in until tomorrow during business hours. I said well those hours end at 7:00 pm and apparently he went home today what makes me feel comfortable of reaching him tomorrow? Sarah said you may want to take my offer then because he won't be as nice. If you don't take the half back then by tomorrow he does not have to give you anything back. I said Whaaat? are you serious. Now I would like his last name because I will call tomorrow and I will talk with him and settle this with having the full amount reversed because I was scammed. You can't over rule a supervisor and say you are doing me a favor and you can't possibly over rule his decision tomorrow by telling me he won't be giving me anything back. He is Your supervisor, not the other way around. So I would like to speak with him myself. Sarah told me his name was Jamie. And when I asked for his last name she blurted out, uhh, Vegas. Jamie Vegas? I said. Sarah replied yeah, why. I just said what a different name, all the more I am anxious to speak with him. I told her have a good night and I will speak to him tomorrow. Good Night. Something does not seem right and this is why I am registering a complaint. With todays economy no one in their right mind would even think of obtaining a membership for 84.16 a month. Unless you are a youngster with a lot of money to pass around. I am a 52 year old single mom and this would not be in my monthly finances. I hope something can be done here.
