cable quality and hd
I had the service install with HD that they atomatic included installed on a 8 month old HD TV that allows 1080i pixels, it workered fine for a while up to a week later. I had problem with the cable box resetting every so often. Bright house sent some one to check the cable line and the guy found one of the wires to have a bad signal so changed it. The problem continue so I changed service to another company, Comcast. The issue was their and service was even worse since i did not get HD and the HD service makes the tv show as it should with a normal service withought the HD. Went back to Bright House and explained the situation before they installed. After the installation the next day I calling because on demand is not showing. The lady insisted that it was a free service to begin with and I said the package comes with it as Advertise and I expect to have it. She rebotted the system and got it going. Then I gave up on the disturted pixelation on the tv that was comming in and out. I called and this is when the back and forth of the cable guys started. I compalint to FCC depatment which Bright House collects a fee from everyone to pay them. They send the complaint to Bright House and know they have been sending cable guy withouht notification to me. This is dangers I explain having my kids in the house and 2 high school girls. They said they would give courtesy call but many times I don't get them, maybe it has to do with the confirmation i request them email so i have as proof. The problem is still their after over the 10 times (I dont count any more) of them showing up. Fcc receives a letter from them saying the problem is resolved and i call to tell FCC, no it hs not and maybe they need to send someone. Bright house is now Giving false excuse that my TV is old and those not except 1080. I said I will have receipt when the next Techinician cable guy comes. I took the box out for the TEch since he gave me a story If i buy another one i get on with 1080. On the box it say clearly excepts 1080 but he decided to say that it show it but it does not say if it comes with it. FCC has not done anything to help but waits for Bright House to collect the money for them and in a complaint like mines they wait for the letter from BRight house claiming issued resolved withough getting mines the consumer which file the complaint, status. I did not even mention broadband disconnection and slowness which the tech guy said I need more memory and to disable my firewall which comes from their company, BrightHouse. My laptop is also 1 year old at time and if we are purchasing none upto date product, them their is many false advertising. It been about 6 month with this service know.

Service and Billing
I had gotten Mediacom through a friend and her services were great, it the company I had the problem with. They charge you two months on the first months bill. They say they bill a month ahead. To those of us who are on a budget that's like giving away half our grocery or medicine money. I think it is wrong and they shouldn't do that. The technician who put the cable in messed up the wall in my daughters bedroom. The insulation was coming out and took me forever to get any satisfaction out of that.I had lady call me one day asking me when was I going to pay my bill? Well I told her I was going to pay what I owed which from what I was told was $40.00 and she told me that my service wouldn't be interrupted if I did. Guess what the next day my service was cut off. Now they have sent me a bill for a month that I haven't had any service. So beware of your cable company.

Elderly abuse
I found my elderly mother really upset one day, as she was complaining about receiving, and being billed for services she did not order. After calling Charter communications on her behalf, I realized what she was going through. After further investigation, I found many other people in her retirement facility, and other elderly people in the community, that were being conned into HD services they didn’t need. Many other options in service were being overly pushed on elderly people who were falsely led to believe it was what they needed. Unfortunately many elderly people are not internet savvy and will never read this. Since learning of their unethical sales practices, and poor customer service, I have told my mother to cancel service. After she canceled, I called in to have service restored at her location in my name. I can’t wait for them to try hustling me.
