Cablevision has been charging me hidden fees
Cablevision has been charging me hidden fees, I signed up with them about a month ago and got the 'Optimum Triple Play', they gave me a temporary phone number because they were porting my old phone number from Verizon to them, so a week later after I signed up with them they finished the installation and transfered my old number to the new service. They told me I wouldn't be charged for the temporary phone number but when my bill arrived I was charged for both numbers my old one and the temporary phone number. They charged me $29.95 + $19.32 partial month fee for both numbers. When the installation was complete I immediately called in and asked them to remove the temporary phone number which they claimed they did. Then when my bill arrived, they told me the temporary phone number was still there and I'm still gonna be charged for it. They asked me if I wanted them to remove it and I said wait a minute I thought weeks ago and they said no it's still on your line, you are paying for two lines. They asked if I wanted them to remove it and give me a refund and I said yes. So, I paid my bill and they excluded the additional charge for that temporary number which was $49.27 with the partial fee. Then when my next bill arrived it was there again. And what's this 'partial fee' that they consistently keep charging me for? I think they have a bad billing system because they keep charging me an additional $19.32 for OOL and OV, this was the second time they charged me for it.

Ordered service @ $29.95 each after install package changed to $39.95 cable, $29.95 each internet & voice bill went from $103 as quoted to $122 per mo. mail U no bill & when I inquired I was told they changed the price & U existing customer, which is not stated NO where on ads - asked when did price change NOBODY knew - FALSE ADVERTISEMENT

Avoid dealing with this ppl

Erroneous Advertising
Cablevision advertised a Free I-Pod touch or a $200 cash rebate for becoming a new customer in their Triple Play Offer. I was told that after making three payments that I would receive my I-Pod which I selected at the time I signed with them Now I am being told that the offer was only for signing up for their Phoine and Internet and does not include Their Triple Play Option. I complained to the Company and was told they would investigate my complaint which by the way was made over a month ago without any response. Stay away fronm Cablevision if posible., Horrible Customer Service.

Horrible customer service and negligence
I've had Cablevision service for a few years now, and subscribe to internet, tv, and phone. In the mean term, I've had horrible customer experience and service, and would switch in a snap if someone else provided similar services where I live.

I switched from a basic plan to a comprehensive plan, and went through all levels of pain.
1. The supposedly automatic billing service overcharged me on multiple counts, and double billed me for the month of transition. In addition, I kept being billed for 2 cable boxes, though I have a single TV. I'd expect an automated billing management system to take care of this properly, and not require me the customer to peruse the bill to find discrepancies. I'm sure this has affected lots of other customers who didn't pore over their bill thoroughly.
2. I called Cablevision and had to spend and argue with the service person for over half an hour, trying to convince her to even look into the discrepancy. She kept repeating the same boilerplate speech about how they prorate as opposed to looking at the actual numbers which were available to her. After half an hour of going through this same speech, she finally agreed to look into the account.

Argh! Wish there was something else I could do to report this horrendous service.

Fraudulent Billing Practices
I have been with Optimum or Cablevision since September 2010. I have had issues with their service but nothing that rose to outrageous like the call I got last night on Thursday, 2/16 at around 9PM. The woman called and said that a previous tenant in the same building owed them monies from two or more years ago and that their were adding this to my account. Sure enough today I went online and Cablevision added $400 to my account. Unbelieveable but true. This company is not consumer friendly and takes the attitude the customer is never right. Buyer beware of Cablevision!

Took off GSN!
I can't believe that you took off one of my favorite channels and now want me to pay an additional $6.75 a month to an already too expensive bill. So I guess ... I can now deduct $6.75 from my payment each month ... since I'm no longer getting GSN.

I have always been a cablevision customers and as you added Optimum Voice and Optimun Online ... I immediately ordered it, but I never received the discounts of having 3 packages for $99 for a year which totally was unfair to me as long time customoer.

Looks live Direct TV is looking better to me! Thanks for nothing!

Converted GSN to a Sports Channel for $6.95
I'm very displeased what Cablevision did to the N.J. and N.Y. customers. What I plan and advise everyone is to file a complaint with the Board of Public Utilities, (BPU) in your state. In New Jersey, go to www.nj.gov and you'll see a list from A-Z. click onto communications anyou will see Cable. In the same page you'll see File A Complaint. Give them your story and pass it to others who do not like this deal. I know I don't when it was always free along with my package. I'm going to file my complaint 02/07/2011 to make sure that they receive this during business days.

Reduced service Increase prices
It was bad enough when they moved ESPN Classic to a charge just as the basketball world championships were on but now to transfer GSN to a premium is the final straw. They keep raising prices and reducing service.

I bill $ 300, 00 plus every month and this is getting ridiculous.

When we lost service because of the problems with Channel 5 and were unable to view much of the baseball playoffs, once again no action on Cablevisions part.

When I talk to them all I get is what a great job they are doing and how they add features at no charge therefore they can reduce services accordingly.

Time to look to Fios.

Cablevision has found a new way to raise rates, without calling it a rate hike. Up until now, you could watch many, but not all channels, without the need for a cable box, which of course Cablevision charges for. There slowly moved channel after channel to a category in which you could not longer watch the channel on a TV without a cable box. Now, you have to have a box to watch any channel. Of course, they charge you for the extra boxes. Although they are giving free boxes for a year, after the year, if you want to be able to watch, you will need a box. Way to go Cablevision...screwing the customer yet again.
