My car was booted by a private parking company (Global Parking) and I had to pay $120 on the spot to have it removed so I could visit my wife in the hospital down the street from the cafe.
I pulled into the private parking lot to buy a coffee at Caffe Gelato. I saw a card shop next door and decided to get my wife, a cancer patient receiving chemotherapy that day, a card to cheer her up. I was informed upon my return to the car that if I step outside of the private parking lot before or after visiting any of the businesses served by the parking lot that I can (and was) booted. There was a sign posted but I did not see the small print about only patronizing the shops served by the parking lot. This seems like a real bait and switch set-up.
I have written Caffe Gelato for their assistance in working with Global Parking Management to refund my money. My letter and phone calls have not been responded to by their manager, Vince Geraci.
